Rafi' b. Khadij and Sahl b. Abu Hathma told that ‘Abdallah b. Sahl and Muhayyisa b. Mas'ud came to Khaibar and when they had separated among the palm-trees ‘Abdallah b. Sahl was killed. ‘Abd ar-Rah¬man b. Sahl and Huwayyisa, and Muhayyisa, the sons of Mas'ud, came to the Prophet and spoke about what had happened to their friend. ‘Abd ar-Rahman who was the youngest spoke first, but the Prophet said to himkabbir al-kubr, which was said by Yahya b. Sa'id to mean “Let the oldest take charge of speaking." They then spoke and the Prophet said, “Make your demand regarding your dead man (or he said, your friend) by the oaths of fifty of you." They replied, “Messenger of God, it is a matter which we did not see." He said, “The Jews will exonerate themselves by the oaths of fifty of them," but they replied, “Messenger of God, they are a people who are infidels." So God’s Messenger paid them the blood wit himself. A version has, “You must swear fifty oaths and make your claim regarding your slain man (or, your friend)." Then God’s Messenger himself paid his blood wit consisting of a hundred she- camels. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

رافع بن خدیج اور سہل بن ابی حشمہ سے روایت ہے ان دونوں نے بیان کیا کہ عبداللہ بن سہل اور محیصہ بن مسعود خیبر آئے اور وہ دونوں کھجوروں کے جھنڈ میں الگ ہو گئے ، چنانچہ عبداللہ بن سہل قتل کر دیے گئے ۔ اس کے بعد عبدالرحمن بن سہل اور مسعود کے دونوں بیٹے حویصہ اور محیصہ نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور وہ اپنے ساتھی کے معاملے کے متعلق بات کرنے لگے تو عبد الرحمن نے ، جو کہ لوگوں میں سب سے چھوٹے تھے ، بات کرنا شروع کی تو نبی ﷺ نے اسے فرمایا :’’ بڑے کو اس کے بڑے ہونے کا حق دو ۔‘‘ یحیی بن سعید نے فرمایا : آپ ﷺ کی مراد تھی کہ جو سب سے بڑا ہے وہ کلام کرے ۔ انہوں نے بات کی تو نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ تم اپنے مقتول ساتھی کی دیت کے متعلق پچاس قسمیں اٹھا کر حق دار بن سکتے ہو ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : اللہ کے رسول ! وہ ایسا معاملہ ہے کہ ہم نے اسے دیکھا نہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ یہود کے پچاس آدمی قسم اٹھا کر تم سے بری ہو جائیں گے ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : اللہ کے رسول ! وہ تو کافر لوگ ہیں ۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اپنی طرف سے انہیں دیت ادا فرمائی ، اور ایک روایت میں ہے :’’ تم پچاس قسمیں اٹھاؤ اور اپنے قاتل یا اپنے ساتھی کے مستحق بن جاؤ ۔‘‘ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اپنی طرف سے سو اونٹنیاں بطور دیت ادا فرمائیں ۔ متفق علیہ ۔
Rafi bin Khadij aur Sahal bin Abi Hashma se riwayat hai in donon ne bayan kya keh Abdullah bin Sahal aur Muhayyisa bin Masood Khyber aaye aur wo donon khajuron ke jhund mein alag ho gaye, chunancha Abdullah bin Sahal qatal kar diye gaye. Iss ke baad Abdur Rahman bin Sahal aur Masood ke donon bete Hawisa aur Muhayyisa Nabi ﷺ ki khidmat mein hazir huye aur wo apne sathi ke mamle ke mutalliq baat karne lage to Abdur Rahman ne, jo keh logon mein sab se chhote thay, baat karna shuru ki to Nabi ﷺ ne usse farmaya: ''Bare ko iss ke bare hone ka haq do.'' Yahiya bin Saeed ne farmaya: Aap ﷺ ki murad thi keh jo sab se bara hai wo kalaam kare. Unhon ne baat ki to Nabi ﷺ ne farmaya: ''Tum apne maqtool sathi ki diyat ke mutalliq pachas qasmein utha kar haqdaar ban sakte ho.'' Unhon ne arz kya: Allah ke Rasool! Wo aisa mamla hai keh humne usse dekha nahin, Aap ﷺ ne farmaya: ''Yahood ke pachas aadmi qasam utha kar tum se bari ho jayenge.'' Unhon ne arz kya: Allah ke Rasool! Wo to kafir log hain. Rasool Allah ﷺ ne apni taraf se unhen diyat ada farmaai, aur ek riwayat mein hai: ''Tum pachas qasmein uthao aur apne qatil ya apne sathi ke mustahiq ban jao.'' Rasool Allah ﷺ ne apni taraf se sau untniyan ba tor diyat ada farmaein. Muttafiq Alaih.
عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ وَسَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمة أَنَّهُمَا حَدَّثَا أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَهْلٍ وَمُحَيِّصَةَ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَتَيَا خَيْبَرَ فَتَفَرَّقَا فِي النَّخْلِ فَقُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَهْلٍ فَجَاءَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَهْلٍ وَحُوَيِّصَةُ وَمُحَيِّصَةُ ابْنَا مَسْعُودٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَكَلَّمُوا فِي أَمْرِ صَاحِبِهِمْ فَبَدَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَكَانَ أَصْغَر الْقَوْم فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: كبر الْكبر قَالَ يحيى بن سعد: يَعْنِي لِيَلِيَ الْكَلَامَ الْأَكْبَرُ فَتَكَلَّمُوا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اسْتَحِقُّوا قَتِيلَكُمْ أَوْ قَالَ صَاحِبَكُمْ بِأَيْمَانِ خَمْسِينَ مِنْكُمْ» . قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمْرٌ لَمْ نَرَهُ قَالَ: فَتُبَرِّئُكُمْ يَهُودُ فِي أَيْمَانِ خَمْسِينَ مِنْهُمْ؟ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَوْمٌ كُفَّارٌ فَفَدَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ قِبَلِهِ. وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «تَحْلِفُونَ خَمْسِينَ يَمِينًا وَتَسْتَحِقُّونَ قَاتِلَكُمْ أَوْ صَاحِبَكُمْ» فَوَدَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ عِنْده بِمِائَة نَاقَة\وَهَذَا الْبَاب خَال من الْفَصْل الثَّانِي\
