Description of Witr prayer
بيان الوتر
Mishkat al-Masabih 1260
Jabir reported God’s Messenger as saying, "If anyone is afraid that he may not get up in the latter part of the night, he should observe awitrin the first part of it; and if anyone is eager to get up in the last part of it he should observe awitrat the end of the night, for prayer at the end of the night is attended by the angels, and that is most excellent.” Muslim transmitted it.

جابر ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جس شخص کو اندیشہ ہو کہ وہ رات کے آخری حصے میں نہیں اٹھ سکے گا تو وہ رات کے اول حصے میں وتر پڑھ لے ، اور جسے رات کے آخری حصے میں جاگنے کی امید ہو تو وہ رات کے آخری حصے میں وتر پڑھے ، کیونکہ رات کے آخری حصے میں پڑھی جانے والی نماز کے وقت فرشتے حاضر ہوتے ہیں ، اور یہ افضل ہے ۔‘‘ رواہ مسلم ۔\n
Jibir bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ne farmaya: "Jis shakhs ko andesha ho ke woh raat ke aakhri hisse mein nahin uth sakega to woh raat ke awwal hisse mein witr parh le, aur jise raat ke aakhri hisse mein jagne ki umeed ho to woh raat ke aakhri hisse mein witr parhe, kyunki raat ke aakhri hisse mein parhi jane wali namaz ke waqt farishte hazir hote hain, aur yeh afzal hai." Riwayat Muslim.
وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ خَافَ أَنْ لَا يَقُومَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ فَلْيُوتِرْ أَوَّلَهُ وَمَنْ طَمِعَ أَنْ يَقُومَ آخِرَهُ فَلْيُوتِرْ آخِرَ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّ صَلَاةَ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ مَشْهُودَةٌ وَذَلِكَ أَفْضَلُ» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
