Kharija b. Hudhafa told of God’s Messenger coming out to them and saying, “God has given you an extra prayer which is better for you than the high-bred camels,* thewitr, which God has appointed for you between the evening prayer and the daybreak.” * Literally “the red ones of the camels.” These were considered to be the best quality. Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

خارجہ بن حذافہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے تو انہوں نے فرمایا :’’ بے شک اللہ نے تمہیں ایک مزید نماز عطا فرمائی ہے اور وہ تمہارے لیے سرخ اونٹوں سے بہتر ہے ، اور وہ نماز وتر ہے جسے اللہ نے نماز عشاء اور طلوع فجر کے مابین پڑھنا مقرر کیا ہے ۔‘‘ ضعیف ۔
Khareja bin Hazafa RA bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah SAW hamare pass tashreef laye to unhon ne farmaya: ''Be shak Allah ne tumhein ek mazeed namaz ata farmae hai aur wo tumhare liye surkh oonton se behtar hai, aur wo namaz witr hai jise Allah ne namaz isha aur tulue fajr ke maben parhna muqarrar kiya hai.'' وَعَن خَارِجَة بن حذافة قَالَ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَدَّكُمْ بِصَلَاةٍ هِيَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ حُمْرِ النِّعَمِ: الْوَتْرُ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى أَنْ يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُد
