Mu'adh b.Jabal said that on the expedition to Tabuk,* if the sun had passed the meridian before the Prophet moved off he combined the noon and the afternoon prayer, but if he moved off before the sun had passed the meridian he delayed the noon prayer till he halted for the afternoon prayer. He acted similarly regarding the sunset prayer:if the sun set before he moved off he combined the sunset and the evening prayer, but if he moved off before sunset he delayed the sunset prayer till he halted for the evening prayer and then combined them. *In 19 AH. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

معاذ بن جبل ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، نبی ﷺ غزوہ تبوک (کے سفر) میں جب آپ کے کوچ کرنے سے پہلے سورج ڈھل جاتا تو آپ ظہر و عصر کو جمع کر لیتے اور اگر سورج ڈھلنے سے پہلے کوچ کرتے تو ظہر کو مؤخر کرتے حتیٰ کہ عصر کے لیے پڑاؤ ڈالتے ۔ اسی طرح مغرب میں کرتے کہ جب کوچ کرنے سے پہلے سورج غروب ہو جاتا تو آپ مغرب اور عشاء اکٹھی پڑھ لیتے اور اگر غروب آفتاب سے پہلے کوچ کر لیتے تو آپ ﷺ مغرب کو مؤخر فرماتے حتیٰ کہ نماز عشاء کے لیے پڑاؤ ڈالتے ۔ پھر انہیں جمع فرما لیتے ۔ صحیح ، رواہ ابوداؤد و الترمذی ۔
Muaz bin Jabal bayan karte hain, Nabi Ghazwah Tabook (ke safar) mein jab aap ke koach karne se pehle sooraj dhal jata to aap Zuhr o Asr ko jama kar lete aur agar sooraj dhalne se pehle koach karte to Zuhr ko moakhir karte hatta ke Asr ke liye padav dalte. Isi tarah Maghrib mein karte ke jab koach karne se pehle sooraj ghuroob ho jata to aap Maghrib aur Isha ikathi parh lete aur agar ghuroob aaftab se pehle koach kar lete to aap Maghrib ko moakhir farmate hatta ke namaz Isha ke liye padav dalte. Phir unhein jama farmate. Sahih, riwayat Abu Dawood o Tirmidhi.
وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ: إِذَا زَاغَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَحِلَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَإِنِ ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ لِلْعَصْرِ وَفِي الْمَغْرِبِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ إِذَا غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَحِلَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ وَإِنِ ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ أَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ لِلْعِشَاءِ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَهُمَا. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ\
