‘Abd ar-Rahmin b. Samura said:During the lifetime of God’s Messenger was shooting some of my arrows in Medina when an eclipse of the sun took place. I therefore threw them away and said, “I swear by God that I must see how God’s Messenger acts in a solar eclipse.” When I came to him he was standing in prayer raising his hands. He then began to glorify God, to acknowledge that He is the only God, to declare His greatness, to express His praise and make supplication till the eclipse came to an end. When the eclipse was over he recited twosurasand prayed two rak'as. Muslim transmitted it in hisSahihfrom 'Abd ar-Rahman b. Samura, and the same occurs inSharh as-sunna, on his authority, but in the copies ofal-Masabihit is given on the authority of Jabir b. Samura.

عبدالرحمن بن سمرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی زندگی میں مدینہ میں تیر اندازی کر رہا تھا کہ اچانک سورج گرہن ہوا ، میں نے وہ تیر (ادھر ہی) پھینکے اور کہا : اللہ کی قسم میں دیکھوں گا کہ سورج گرہن کے بارے میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کیا نئی تعلیم ارشاد فرماتے ہیں ، وہ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں آپ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو دیکھا کہ آپ ہاتھ اٹھائے کھڑے نماز پڑھ رہے ہیں ، آپ تسبیح و تہلیل ، تکبیر و تحمید اور دعا کرنے لگے ، حتیٰ کہ سورج گرہن ختم ہو گیا تو آپ نے دو سورتیں پڑھیں اور دو رکعتیں ادا فرمائیں ۔ صحیح مسلم اور شرح السنہ میں عبدالرحمن بن سمرہ ؓ سے مروی ہے جبکہ مصابیح کے نسخوں میں جابر بن سمرہ ؓ سے مروی ہے ۔ رواہ مسلم والبغوی فی شرح السنہ ۔
Abdulrahman bin Samrah bayan karte hain, main Rasool Allah ki zindagi mein Madina mein teer andazi kar raha tha ke achanak suraj grahan hua, main ne woh teer (idhar hi) phenke aur kaha: Allah ki qasam main dekhoon ga ke suraj grahan ke bare mein Rasool Allah kya nayi taleem irshad farmate hain, woh bayan karte hain, main aap ki khidmat mein hazir hua to dekha ke aap hath uthaye kharde namaz parh rahe hain, aap tasbeeh-o-tahleel, takbeer-o-tahmeed aur dua karne lage, hatta ke suraj grahan khatam ho gaya to aap ne do suraattain parhin aur do rakkatain ada farmaeen. Sahih Muslim aur Sharah Al-Sunnah mein Abdulrahman bin Samrah se marvi hai jabke Masabih ke nuskon mein Jabir bin Samrah se marvi hai. Rawah Muslim wal-Baghawi fi Sharah Al-Sunnah.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أرتمي بأسهم لي بالمدين فِي حَيَاةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ كُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَنَبَذْتُهَا. فَقُلْتُ: وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْظُرَنَّ إِلَى مَا حَدَثَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي كُسُوفِ الشَّمْسِ. قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَافِعٌ يَدَيْهِ فَجعل يسبح ويهلل وَيكبر ويحمد وَيَدْعُو حَتَّى حَسَرَ عَنْهَا فَلَمَّا حَسَرَ عَنْهَا قَرَأَ سُورَتَيْنِ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي صَحِيحِهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ وَكَذَا فِي شَرْحِ السُّنَّةِ عَنْهُ وَفِي نُسَخِ الْمَصَابِيحِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بن سَمُرَة
