Description of visiting the sick and the reward for illness
بيان زيارة المريض وأجر المرض
Mishkat al-Masabih 1533
Uthman b. Abul ‘As said he complained to God’s messenger of a pain he had in his body, and he told him to put his hand on the part of his body which was sore and say three times “In the name of God,” and seven times, “I seek refuge in God’s might and power from the evil of what I am experiencing and trying to avert.” He said he did so, and God removed his trouble. Muslim transmitted it.

عثمان بن ابی العاص ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے اپنے جسم کی تکلیف کے متعلق رسول اللہ ﷺ سے شکایت کی تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے انہیں فرمایا :’’ اپنے جسم کے تکلیف والے حصے پر اپنا ہاتھ رکھو ، اور تین مرتبہ بسم اللہ پڑھ کر سات مرتبہ یہ دعا پڑھو :((اعوذ بعزۃ اللہ و قدرتہ من شر ما اجد و احاذر)) میں ہر اس شر سے جو میں پاتا ہوں اور جس سے میں غم زدہ ہوں اللہ کے غلبے اور اس کی قدرت کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں ۔‘‘ راوی بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں نے ایسے کیا تو اللہ نے میری وہ تکلیف دور کر دی ۔ رواہ مسلم ۔
Usman bin Abi Al-Aas (RA) se riwayat hai ki unhon ne apne jism ki takleef ke mutalliq Rasool Allah (SAW) se shikayat ki to Rasool Allah (SAW) ne unhen farmaya: "Apne jism ke takleef wale hisse par apna hath rakho, aur teen martaba Bismillah parh kar saat martaba yeh dua parho: A'udhu bi 'izzati Allahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir. Main har us shar se jo main pata hun aur jis se main ghamzada hun Allah ke ghalbe aur us ki qudrat ki panah chahta hun." Ravi bayan karte hain, main ne aise kiya to Allah ne meri wo takleef door kar di. Riwayat Muslim.
وَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ أَنَّهُ شَكَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَعًا يَجِدُهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ضَعْ يَدَكَ عَلَى الَّذِي يَأْلَمُ مِنْ جَسَدِكَ وَقُلْ: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَقُلْ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ: أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ . قَالَ: فَفَعَلْتُ فَأَذْهَبَ اللَّهُ مَا كَانَ بِي. رَوَاهُ مُسلم\
