Description of desiring death and remembering it
بيان رغبة في الاستذكار بالموت
Mishkat al-Masabih 1601
‘Ubada b. as-Samit reported God's messenger as saying, "If anyone wishes to meet God, God wishes to meet him; but if anyone does not wish to meet God, God does not wish to meet him.” When ‘A'isha or one of his wives said she did not want to die, he replied, "That is not what I mean; but when death comes to a believer he is given glad tidings of God’s good pleasure and regard, so nothing is dearer to him than what lies before him, and he wishes to meet God and God wishes to meet him. But when an infidel approaches death he is given tidings of God’s punishment and chastisement, so nothing is more objectionable to him than what lies before him, and he does not wish to meet God and God does not wish to meet him.” In ‘A’isha's version it says that death precedes the meeting with God. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

عبادہ بن صامت ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جو شخص اللہ سے ملاقات کرنا پسند کرتا ہے تو اللہ اس کی ملاقات کو پسند کرتا ہے ۔‘‘ عائشہ ؓ یا آپ کی کسی اور زوجہ مححترمہ نے فرمایا : بے شک ہم تو موت کو نا پسند کرتے ہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ یہ بات نہیں ہے ، بلکہ مومن کو موت آتی ہے تو اسے اللہ کی رضا مندی اور اس کی عزت افزائی کی بشارت دی جاتی ہے تو پھر جو اس کے آگے ہونے والا ہوتا ہے وہ اسے سب سے زیادہ محبوب ہوتا ہے لہذا وہ اللہ سے ملاقات کرنا پسند کرتا ہے اور اللہ اس سے ملاقات کرنا پسند کرتا ہے ، اور جب کافر کو موت آتی ہے تو اسے اللہ کے عذاب اور اس کی سزا کی بشارت دی جاتی ہے تو پھر اس کو مستقبل سے زیادہ ناگوار کوئی چیز نظر نہیں آتی تو وہ اللہ سے ملاقات کرنا ناپسند کرتا ہے اور اللہ اس سے ملنا ناپسند کرتا ہے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Ibadat bin Samat RA bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah SAW ne farmaya: ''Jo shakhs Allah se mulaqat karna pasand karta hai to Allah us ki mulaqat ko pasand karta hai.'' Ayesha RA ya aap ki kisi aur zauja muhtarima ne farmaya: ''Be shak hum to maut ko napasand karte hain.'' Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Yeh baat nahin hai, balke Momin ko maut aati hai to use Allah ki raza mandi aur us ki izzat afzai ki basharat di jati hai to phir jo us ke aage hone wala hota hai wo use sab se zyada mahboob hota hai lihaza wo Allah se mulaqat karna pasand karta hai aur Allah us se mulaqat karna pasand karta hai, aur jab kafir ko maut aati hai to use Allah ke azab aur us ki saza ki basharat di jati hai to phir us ko mustaqbil se zyada nagawar koi cheez nazar nahin aati to wo Allah se mulaqat karna napasand karta hai aur Allah us se milna napasand karta hai.'' Muttafaq Alaih.
وَعَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ كَرِهَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ» فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ أَوْ بَعْضُ أَزْوَاجِهِ: إِنَّا لَنَكْرَهُ الْمَوْتَ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ بُشِّرَ بِرِضْوَانِ اللَّهِ وَكَرَامَتِهِ فَلَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا أَمَامَهُ فَأَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ وَأَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَإِنَّ الْكَافِرَ إِذَا حضر بشر بِعَذَاب الله وعقوبته فَلَيْسَ شَيْء أكره إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا أَمَامَهُ فَكَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ وَكَرِهَ الله لقاءه»
