Mishkat al-Masabih 1608
Ibn Mas'ud told of the Prophet saying to his companions one day, “Show due respect towards God.” On their replying, “Prophet of God, we show due respect towards God, praise be to God,” he said, “That is not what I mean; but he who shows due respect to God must guard the head and what it retains, must guard the belly and what it contains, and keep death and decay in remembrance; and he who desires the next world must abandon the adornment of this world. He who does that has shown due respect towards God.” Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, the latter saying this is agharibtradition.

ابن مسعود ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ایک روز اپنے صحابہ سے فرمایا :’’ اللہ سے حیا کرو جس طرح اس سے حیا کرنے کا حق ہے ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : اللہ کے نبی ! الحمد للہ ہم اللہ سے حیا کرتے ہیں ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ یہ بات نہیں ہے ، بلکہ جو شخص اللہ سے ایسے حیا کرتا ہے جیسے حیا کرنے کا حق ہے تو وہ سر اور ان چیزوں کی جو سر میں ہیں (آنکھ ، کان ، زبان) کی حفاظت کرے ، اور وہ پیٹ اور اس کے متعلقات (شرم گاہ ، ہاتھ ، پاؤں اور دل وغیرہ) کی حفاظت کرے ، وہ موت اور بوسیدہ ہونے کو یاد رکھے ، اور جو آخرت چاہتا ہے وہ دنیا ترک کر دے ۔ جو شخص اس طرح کرے تو اس نے اللہ سے ایسے حیا کیا جیسے اس سے حیا کرنے کا حق ہے ۔‘‘ ضعیف ۔
Ibn Masood RA se riwayat hai keh Nabi SAW ne aik roz apne sahaba se farmaya: Allah se haya karo jis tarah us se haya karne ka haq hai. Unhon ne arz kya: Allah ke Nabi! Alhamdulillah hum Allah se haya karte hain. Aap SAW ne farmaya: Yeh baat nahin hai, balkeh jo shakhs Allah se aise haya karta hai jaise haya karne ka haq hai to woh sar aur un cheezon ki jo sar mein hain (aankh, kaan, zaban) ki hifazat kare, aur woh pet aur us ke mutalliqat (sharmgah, hath, paon aur dil waghaira) ki hifazat kare, woh maut aur boseeda hone ko yaad rakhe, aur jo akhirat chahta hai woh duniya tark kar de. Jo shakhs is tarah kare to us ne Allah se aise haya kya jaise us se haya karne ka haq hai. Zaeef.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: «اسْتَحْيُوا مِنَ اللَّهِ حَقَّ الْحَيَاءِ» قَالُوا: إِنَّا نَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ اللَّهِ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنَّ مَنِ اسْتَحْيَى مِنَ اللَّهِ حَقَّ الْحَيَاءِ فَلْيَحْفَظِ الرَّأْسَ وَمَا وَعَى وَلْيَحْفَظِ الْبَطْنَ وَمَا حَوَى وَلْيَذْكُرِ الْمَوْتُ وَالْبِلَى وَمَنْ أَرَادَ الْآخِرَةَ تَرَكَ زِينَةَ الدُّنْيَا فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَدِ اسْتَحْيَى مِنَ اللَّهِ حَقَّ الْحَيَاءِ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ
