‘Urwa b. az-Zubair said there were two men in Medina, one of whom made a niche when digging a grave, the other of whom did not. The people said that the one who came first should do as he was accustomed to do, and the one who made a niche came and made one for God’s messenger. [Baghawi] transmitted it inSharh as-sunna.

عروہ بن زبیر بیان کرتے ہیں ، مدینہ میں دو گورکن تھے ، ان میں سے ایک لحد بناتا تھا جبکہ دوسرا لحد تیار نہیں کرتا تھا ، صحابہ نے فرمایا : ان دونوں میں سے جو پہلے آئے گا وہ اپنا کام کرے گا ، پس لحد بنانے والا شخص پہلے آیا تو پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ کے لیے لحد تیار کی گئی ۔ حسن ، رواہ البغوی فی شرح السنہ ۔
Urooj bin Zabeer bayan karte hain, Madina mein do gorcan thay, in mein se aik lahad banata tha jabkay doosra lahad taiyar nahin karta tha, sahaba ne farmaya: in donon mein se jo pehle aaye ga woh apna kaam kare ga, pas lahad banane wala shakhs pehle aaya to phir Rasool Allah ﷺ ke liye lahad taiyar ki gayi. عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ: كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا يَلْحَدُ وَالْآخَرُ لَا يَلْحَدُ. فَقَالُوا: أَيُّهُمَا جَاءَ أَوَّلًا عَمِلَ عَمَلَهُ. فَجَاءَ الَّذِي يَلْحَدُ فَلَحَدَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. رَوَاهُ فِي شَرْحِ السّنة
