‘Abdallāh b. Mas'ūd said, “Everything has a hump, and the hump of the Qur’ān issūra al-Baqara. Everything has a kernel, and the kernel of the Qur’ān isal-Mufassal.* *A title given to thesūrasfrom 49 to the end, but several othersūrasare also mentioned:37, 45, 47, 48, 50, 61, 67, and 93. The name is most appropriately explained as meaning that this is the section of the Qur’ān which contains many shortersūras. Dārimī transmitted it.

عبداللہ بن مسعود ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا : ہر چیز کی ایک چوٹی ہوتی ہے اور قرآن کی چوٹی سورۃ البقرہ ہے ، اور ہر چیز کا ایک مغز ہوتا ہے اور قرآن کا مغز مفصل سورتیں (سورۃ الحجرات سے الناس تک) ہیں ۔‘‘ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ الدارمی ۔
Abdullah bin Masood se riwayat hai ki unhon ne farmaya: Har cheez ki aik choti hoti hai aur Quran ki choti Surah Al-Baqarah hai, aur har cheez ka aik maghz hota hai aur Quran ka maghz mufassal surtein (Surah Al-Hujurat se Al-Nas tak) hain. Isnaadahu hasan, riwayah al-Darmi.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: إِنَّ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ سَنَامًا وَإِنَّ سَنَامَ الْقُرْآنِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ لُبَابًا وَإِنَّ لباب الْقُرْآن الْمفصل. رَوَاهُ الدَّارمِيّ
