Mishkat al-Masabih 2191
Qatādā said that when Anas was asked how the Prophet recited the Qur’ān he replied that he did so prolonging the words. Then he recited “In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful,” prolonging each phrase. Bukhārī transmitted it.

قتادہ بیان کرتے ہیں ، انس ؓ سے نبی ﷺ کی قراءت کے بارے میں دریافت کیا گیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا : وہ مد کے ساتھ تھی ، پھر انہوں نے (بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم) پڑھی ، اور (بسم اللہ) اور (الرحمن) اور (الرحیم) کو مد کے ساتھ پڑھا (یعنی لمبا کر کے پڑھا) ۔ رواہ البخاری ۔
Qatadah bayan karte hain, Anas se Nabi ki qirat ke bare mein daryaft kiya gaya to unhon ne farmaya: Woh mud ke sath thi, phir unhon ne (Bismillah hirRehman nirRahim) padhi, aur (Bismillah) aur (alRahman) aur (alRahim) ko mud ke sath parha (yani lamba kar ke parha). Riwayat al-Bukhari.
وَعَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ: كَيْفَ كَانَتْ قِرَاءَةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: كَانَت مدا مَدًّا ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَمُدُّ بِبَسْمِ اللَّهِ وَيَمُدُّ بِالرَّحْمَنِ وَيَمُدُّ بِالرَّحِيمِ. رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
