Mishkat al-Masabih 2420
Ibn ‘Umar said that when God’s messenger sat on his camel to go out on a journey, he said “God is most great” three times. Then he said, "Glory be to Him who has made this subservient to us, for we had not the strength for it, and to our Lord do we return. O God, we ask Thee in this journey of ours for uprightness, piety and such deeds as are pleasing to Thee. O God, make easy for us this journey of ours and make its length short for us. O God, Thou art the Companion in the journey and the One who looks after the family and the property in our absence. O God, I seek refuge in Thee from the difficulty of travelling, unhappiness in what I see, and finding harm has come when I return to my property and family." When he returned he said these words, adding, "Returning, repentant, serving and praising our Lord." [cf. Qur’an, ix, 112.] Muslim transmitted it.

ابن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ جب سفر پر روانہ ہونے کے لئے اپنے اونٹ پر سوار ہو جاتے تو آپ تین بار اللہ اکبر کہتے پھر یہ دعا پڑھتے :’’ پاک ہے وہ ذات جس نے ہمارے لئے اسے مسخر کر دیا جبکہ ہم اس پر طاقت و قدرت نہیں رکھتے تھے ۔ اے اللہ ! ہم اس سفر میں تجھ سے نیکی و تقویٰ اور ایسے عمل کا سوال کرتے ہیں جسے تو پسند فرمائے ، اے اللہ ! یہ سفر ہم پر آسان کر دے اور اس کی دوری (لمبی مسافت کو ہمارے لئے) لپیٹ (کر قریب) دے ، اے اللہ ! اس سفر میں تو ہی ہمارا ساتھی ہے اور گھر میں نائب ہے ، اے اللہ ! میں سفر کی شدت و مشقت ، تکلیف دہ منظر اور اہل و مال میں بری واپسی سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں ۔‘‘ اور جب آپ ﷺ واپس آتے تو یہی دعا پڑھتے اور اس کے ساتھ یہ اضافہ فرماتے :’’ واپس لوٹنے والے ہیں ، توبہ کرنے والے ہیں ، عبادت کرنے والے ہیں ، اپنے رب کی حمد کرنے والے ہیں ۔‘‘ رواہ مسلم ۔
Ibn Umar RA se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah SAW jab safar par rawana honay ke liye apne unt par sawar ho jate to aap teen bar Allah Akbar kehte phir ye dua parhte: ''Pak hai wo zaat jisne hamare liye ise muskhar kar diya jabke hum is par taqat o qudrat nahin rakhte thay. Aye Allah! hum is safar mein tujhse neki o taqwa aur aise amal ka sawal karte hain jise tu pasand farmaye, aye Allah! ye safar hum par aasan kar de aur is ki doori (lambi masafat ko hamare liye) lapet (kar qareeb) de, aye Allah! is safar mein tu hi hamara sathi hai aur ghar mein nayab hai, aye Allah! mein safar ki shiddat o mushqut, takleef deh manzar aur ahl o maal mein bari wapsi se teri panaah chahta hun.'' Aur jab aap SAW wapas aate to yehi dua parhte aur is ke sath ye izafa farmate: ''Wapas lautne wale hain, toba karne wale hain, ibadat karne wale hain, apne rab ki hamd karne wale hain.'' Riwayat Muslim.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَوَى عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ خَارِجًا إِلَى السَّفَرِ كَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ: (سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ)\اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا وَاطْوِ لَنَا بُعْدَهُ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ والأهلِ . وإِذا رجعَ قالَهنَّ وزادَ فيهِنَّ: «آيِبُونَ تائِبُونَ عابِدُونَ لربِّنا حامدون» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم\
