He told of a man coming to the Prophet and saying that his sister had taken a vow to make the pilgrimage, but had died. The Prophet asked whether he would pay a debt, supposing she owed one, and when he replied that he would, he said, “Well, pay the debt due to God, for it is the one which most deserves to be paid.” Bukhari and Muslim.

ابن عباس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، ایک آدمی نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو اس نے عرض کیا : میری بہن نے حج کرنے کی نذر مانی تھی لیکن وہ فوت ہو چکی ہیں ، تو نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ اگر اس پر قرض ہوتا تو کیا تم اسے ادا کرتے ؟‘‘ اس نے عرض کیا ، جی ہاں ، تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ پھر اللہ کا قرض بھی ادا کرو ، وہ تو ادائیگی کا زیادہ حق دار ہے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Ibn Abbas bayan karte hain, ek aadmi Nabi ki khidmat mein hazir hua to usne arz kiya: meri behen ne Hajj karne ki nazar maani thi lekin woh faut ho chuki hain, to Nabi ne farmaya: ''agar us par qarz hota to kya tum use ada karte?'' Usne arz kiya, ji haan, to aap ne farmaya: ''phir Allah ka qarz bhi ada karo, woh to adaegi ka zyada haqdaar hai.'' Mutaffiq alaih.
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أُخْتِي نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَحُجَّ وَإِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْهَا دَيْنٌ أَكَنْتَ قَاضِيَهُ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: «فَاقْضِ دَيْنَ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِالْقَضَاءِ»
