Ibn 'Abbas said some of the Prophet's companions passed a watering-place where there was one who had been stung by a scorpion or bitten by a snake. One of the inhabitants of the watering-place accosted them and asked whether anyone among them could apply a charm, for at the watering-place there was a man who had been stung by a scorpion or bitten by a snake. One of them went and recitedFatihat al-Kitabin return for some sheep, and he was cured; but when he brought the sheep to his companions they disapproved of that saying, “You have taken payment for God’s Book.” When they came to Medina and told God’s Messenger that he had taken payment for God's Book, he replied, “The most worthy thing for which you have taken payment is God’s Book." Bukhari transmitted it. In a version he said, “You have done right. Divide them and give me a share along with you."

ابن عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کے چند صحابہ کا پانی (کے گھاٹ) کے پاس سے گزر ہوا تو وہاں ایک آدمی تھا جسے بچھو یا سانپ نے ڈس لیا تھا ، اس پانی پر آباد لوگوں میں سے ایک آدمی آیا تو اس نے کہا : کیا تم میں کوئی دم جھاڑ کرنے والا ہے ؟ کیونکہ ہماری آبادی میں ایک آدمی ہے جسے بچھو یا سانپ نے ڈس لیا ہے ، ان (صحابہ کرام) میں سے ایک آدمی گیا اور کچھ بکریوں کے عوض اس پر سورۂ فاتحہ پڑھی اور بکریاں لے کر اپنے ساتھیوں کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے اسے ناپسند کیا ، اور کہا : کیا تم نے اللہ کی کتاب پر اجرت لے لی ؟ حتی کہ وہ مدینہ پہنچ گئے ، تو انہوں نے عرض کیا : اللہ کے رسول ! اس نے اللہ کی کتاب پر اجرت لی ہے ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جس چیز پر تم اجرت لینے کے سب سے زیادہ حق دار ہو ، وہ اللہ کی کتاب ہے ۔‘‘ اور ایک دوسری حدیث میں ہے :’ تم نے ٹھیک کیا ، تقسیم کرو اور اپنے ساتھ میرا بھی حصہ مقرر کرو ۔‘‘ رواہ البخاری ۔
Ibn Abbas se riwayat hai ke Nabi ke chand sahaba ka pani ke ghat ke pass se guzar hua to wahan ek aadmi tha jise bichhu ya saanp ne das liya tha, is pani par aabad logon mein se ek aadmi aaya to usne kaha: kya tum mein koi dum jhadne wala hai? kyunkah hamari aabadi mein ek aadmi hai jise bichhu ya saanp ne das liya hai, in mein se ek aadmi gaya aur kuch bakriyon ke awaz is par Surah Fatiha padhi aur bakriyan le kar apne sathiyon ke pass aaya to unhon ne use napasand kiya, aur kaha: kya tum ne Allah ki kitab par ujrat le li? hatta ke woh Madina pahunch gaye, to unhon ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! is ne Allah ki kitab par ujrat le li hai, Rasool Allah ne farmaya: "jis cheez par tum ujrat lene ke sab se zyada haqdar ho, woh Allah ki kitab hai." aur ek dusri hadees mein hai: "tum ne theek kiya, taqseem karo aur apne sath mera bhi hissa muqarrar karo." وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرُّوا بِمَاءٍ فبهم لَدِيغٌ أَوْ سَلِيمٌ فَعَرَضَ لَهُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَاءِ فَقَالَ: هَلْ فِيكُمْ مِنْ رَاقٍ؟ إِن فِي المَاء لَدِيغًا أَوْ سَلِيمًا فَانْطَلَقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقَرَأَ بِفَاتِحَة الْكتاب على شَاءَ فبرئ فَجَاءَ بِالشَّاءِ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَكَرِهُوا ذَلِكَ وَقَالُوا: أَخَذْتَ عَلَى كِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَجْرًا حَتَّى قَدِمُوا الْمَدِينَةَ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخَذَ عَلَى كِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَجْرًا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ أَحَقَّ مَا أَخَذْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا كِتَابُ اللَّهِ» . رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «أَصَبْتُمُ اقْسِمُوا وَاضْرِبُوا لِي مَعَكُمْ سَهْمًا»
