She said that the Prophet visited her when a man was with her and he seemed to disapprove of that. She told him that he was her brother and he replied, “Consider* who your brothers are, for fosterage is that consequent on hunger” (Fosterage applies only to infants and not to children who are able to take solid food). * The verb is in the plural, indicating that this is a general instruction and not simply a reply to A’isha. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ میرے پاس تشریف لائے تو میرے پاس ایک آدمی تھا ، گویا آپ نے اسے ناپسند فرمایا ، عائشہ ؓ نے عرض کیا ، یہ تو میرا بھائی ہے ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ دیکھو کہ تمہارے بھائی کون ہیں ، رضاعت تو صرف وہ دودھ ہے جسے بھوک دور کرنے کے لیے پیا گیا ہو ۔‘‘ (بچے کو صغر سنی کی عمر میں بھوک لگی ہو اور وہ کسی عورت کا دودھ پی لے) متفق علیہ ۔
Ayesha RA se riwayat hai ke Nabi SAW mere paas tashreef laye to mere paas ek aadmi tha, goya aap ne use napasand farmaya. Ayesha RA ne arz kiya, yeh to mera bhai hai. Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Dekho ke tumhare bhai kaun hain, rizayat to sirf wo doodh hai jise bhook door karne ke liye piya gaya ho.'' (Bacche ko sighar sani ki umar mein bhook lagi ho aur wo kisi aurat ka doodh pee le) Muttafiq alaih.
وَعَنْهَا: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا رَجُلٌ فَكَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَت: إِنَّه أخي فَقَالَ: «انظرن من إخوانكن؟ فَإِنَّمَا الرضَاعَة من المجاعة»
