Rukana b. 'Abd Yazid said he divorced his wife Suhaima absolutely and when the Prophet was informed of that he said, “I swear by God that I meant it to be only a single utterance of divorce.” God’s Messenger asked him if that was so, and when he assured him that it was, he restored her to him. Then he divorced her the second time in the time of ‘Umar and the third time in the time of ‘Uthman. Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it, but only Abu Dawud mentioned the second and third time (See Abu Dawud’sSunan,Talaq, 14).

رکانہ بن عبد یزید سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے اپنی اہلیہ سہیمہ کو طلاق بتہ دی ، انہوں نے اس کے متعلق نبی ﷺ کو بتایا اور کہا : اللہ کی قسم ! میں نے صرف ایک ہی کا ارادہ کیا تھا ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ تم نے صرف ایک ہی کا ارادہ کیا تھا ؟‘‘ رکانہ نے عرض کیا : اللہ کی قسم ! میں نے ایک ہی کا ارادہ کیا تھا ۔‘‘ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سہیمہ کو رکانہ کی طرف لوٹا دیا ، پھر انہوں نے دوسری طلاق عمر ؓ کے دور حکومت میں اور تیسری طلاق عثمان ؓ کے دورِ حکومت میں دی ۔ ابوداؤد ۔ اور ترمذی ، ابن ماجہ ، دارمی ، مگر انہوں نے دوسری اور تیسری طلاق کا ذکر نہیں کیا ۔ حسن ، رواہ ابوداؤد و الترمذی و ابن ماجہ و الدارمی ۔
Rukana bin Abd Yazid se riwayat hai ki unhon ne apni ahliya Sahima ko talaq bata di, unhon ne iske mutalliq Nabi ﷺ ko bataya aur kaha : Allah ki qasam! main ne sirf ek hi ka irada kiya tha, Rasul Allah ﷺ ne farmaya : "Tum ne sirf ek hi ka irada kiya tha?" Rukana ne arz kiya : Allah ki qasam! main ne ek hi ka irada kiya tha." Rasul Allah ﷺ ne Sahima ko Rukana ki taraf luta diya, phir unhon ne dusri talaq Umar (RA) ke daur e hukumat mein aur teesri talaq Usman (RA) ke daur e hukumat mein di. Abu Dawud. Aur Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Darmi, magar unhon ne dusri aur teesri talaq ka zikar nahin kiya. Hasan, riwayat Abu Dawud wa Tirmidhi wa Ibn Majah wa Darmi.
وَعَنْ رُكَانَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَزِيدَ أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ سُهَيْمَةَ الْبَتَّةَ فَأَخْبَرَ بِذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسلم وَقَالَ: وَالله مَا أردتُ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً؟» فَقَالَ ركانةُ: واللَّهِ مَا أردتُ إِلَّا وَاحِدَة فَرَدَّهَا إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَطَلَّقَهَا الثَّانِيَةَ فِي زَمَانِ عُمَرَ وَالثَّالِثَةَ فِي زَمَانِ عُثْمَانَ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَالدَّارِمِيُّ إِلَّا أَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا الثانيةَ وَالثَّالِثَة
