He reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Woe to the governors, woe to the chiefs, woe to the superintendents! On the day of resurrection people will wish that their forelocks were tied to the Pleiades, that they were swinging between heaven and earth, and that they had never exercised any rule.”* It is transmitted inSharh as-sunna. Ahmad transmitted it, his version saying, “that their flowing hair were tied to the Pleiades, that they were dangling between heaven and earth, and that they had never been made governors over anything.” * The idea of their swinging between heaven and earth is that they will wish they had been far removed from the world during their lifetime so that they would not have exercised rule.

ابوہریرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ امراء کے لیے ویل (ہلاکت و تباہی یا جہنم کی ایک وادی) ہے ۔ ناظمین کے لیے ویل ہے اور امانت رکھنے والوں کے لیے ہلاکت ہے ، روزِ قیامت لوگ آرزو کریں گے کہ ان کی پیشانیاں ثریا کے ساتھ معلق ہوتیں وہ زمین و آسمان کے درمیان حرکت کرتے رہتے لیکن وہ کسی کام کے ذمہ داری و سرپرستی قبول نہ کرتے ۔‘‘\n اور امام احمد نے بھی اسے روایت کیا ہے ، ان کی روایت میں ہے کہ ان کے بال ثریا کے ساتھ معلق ہوتے اور وہ زمین و آسمان کے درمیان حرکت کرتے رہتے لیکن انہیں کسی کام کی ذمہ داری نہ سونپی جاتی ۔‘‘ حسن ، رواہ فی شرح السنہ و احمد ۔\n
Abu Huraira bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ne farmaya: ''Umra ke liye wail hai. Nazmeen ke liye wail hai aur amanat rakhne walon ke liye halaakat hai, roz-e-qiyamat log aarzoo karenge ke unki peshaniyan Thuraya ke sath muallaq hoti woh zameen-o-aasman ke darmiyan harkat karte rehte lekin woh kisi kaam ki zimmedari-o-sarparasti qubool nah karte.'' Aur Imam Ahmed ne bhi ise riwayat kiya hai, unki riwayat mein hai ke unke baal Thuraya ke sath muallaq hote aur woh zameen-o-aasman ke darmiyan harkat karte rehte lekin unhen kisi kaam ki zimmedari nah sonpi jati.'' Hasan, Rawah fi Sharah al-Sunnah wa Ahmad.
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَيْلٌ لِلْأُمَرَاءِ وَيْلٌ لِلْعُرَفَاءِ وَيْلٌ لِلْأُمَنَاءِ لَيَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنَّ نَوَاصِيَهُمْ مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِالثُّرَيَّا يَتَجَلْجَلُونَ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَلُوا عَمَلًا» . رَوَاهُ فِي «شَرْحِ السُّنَّةِ» وَرَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَفِي رِوَايَته: «أنَّ ذوائِبَهُم كَانَتْ مُعَلَّقَةً بِالثُّرَيَّا يَتَذَبْذَبُونَ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ولَمْ يَكُونُوا عُمِّلوا على شَيْء»
