Mishkat al-Masabih 3915
‘Abdallah b. Mas’ud said:At the battle of Badr there was one camel to every three men of us. Abu Lubaba and ‘Ali b. Abu Talib were the travelling companions of God’s Messenger, and when his turn to dismount came they would offer to walk instead of him, but he would reply, “You are not stronger than I am, and I am not more able to dispense with the reward* than you are." * i.e. the reward in the next world for walking part of the way. It is transmitted inSharh as-sunna.

عبداللہ بن مسعود ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، غزوہ بدر کے دن ہم تین تین آدمی ایک اونٹ پر سوار تھے ، ابولبابہ اور علی بن ابی طالب ؓ ، رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھی تھے ، راوی بیان کرتے ہیں ، جب (پیدل چلنے کی) رسول اللہ ﷺ کی باری آتی تو وہ عرض کرتے ، آپ کی طرف سے ہم پیدل چلتے ہیں ، آپ ﷺ فرماتے :’’ تم دونوں مجھ سے زیادہ قوی ہو نہ میں اجر حاصل کرنے میں تم دونوں سے زیادہ بے نیاز ہوں ۔‘‘ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ فی شرح السنہ ۔
Abdulal bin Masood bayan karte hain, Gazwa Badr ke din hum teen teen aadmi ek unt par sawar the, Abulbaba aur Ali bin Abi Talib, Rasool Allah ke saathi the, Rawi bayan karte hain, jab (paidal chalne ki) Rasool Allah ki bari aati to wo arz karte, aap ki taraf se hum paidal chalte hain, aap farmate: "Tum donon mujh se ziada qawi ho na main ajr hasil karne mein tum donon se ziada be niyaz hon." Isnaadahu Hasan, Rawah fi Sharahus Sunnah.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُنَّا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ كُلَّ ثَلَاثَةٍ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ فَكَانَ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ زَمِيلَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: فَكَانَتْ إِذَا جَاءَتْ عُقْبَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَا: نَحْنُ نَمْشِي عَنْكَ قَالَ: «مَا أَنْتُمَا بِأَقْوَى مِنِّي وَمَا أَنَا بِأَغْنَى عَنِ الْأَجْرِ مِنْكُمَا» . رَوَاهُ فِي شرح السّنة
