Umm Sharik told that God’s messenger ordered geckos to be killed, saying the gecko blew on Abraham.11. Al-Qur’an 21:68 speaks of Abraham being put into a fire. In this tradition it is said that the gecko blew on the fire to stir it up. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

ام شریک ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے گرگٹ مارنے کا حکم فرمایا ، اور فرمایا :’’ وہ ابراہیم ؑ کے لیے جلائی گئی آگ بھڑکانے کے لیے پھونکیں مارتا تھا ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
um sharik ra se riwayat hai keh rasool allah saw ne girgit marne ka hukm farmaya, aur farmaya: ''woh ibrahim as ke liye jalaee gaee aag bhadkane ke liye phoonkain marta tha.'' muttafiq alaih.
وَعَن أم شريك: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغِ وَقَالَ: «كَانَ يَنْفُخُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيم»
