Abu Ayyub said:We were with the Prophet when food was presented to him, and I never saw food which had greater blessing when we began to eat, or less when we finished. We asked God’s messenger how that was, and he replied, “We mentioned God’s name when we ate, then one who ate sat down without mentioning God's name and the devil ate with him.” It is transmitted inSharh as-sunna.

ابوایوب ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، ہم نبی ﷺ کے پاس تھے کہ کھانا پیش کیا گیا ، میں نے کوئی کھانا نہیں ایسا دیکھا کہ ہم نے کھایا ہو اور اس کے شروع میں بہت زیادہ برکت ہو اور اس کے آخر میں بہت کم برکت ہو ، ہم نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! یہ کیسے ہوا ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’ جب ہم نے کھانا کھایا تو ہم نے اس پر اللہ کا نام لیا ، پھر کوئی ایسا شخص بیٹھا جس نے اللہ کا نام نہیں لیا اس وجہ سے شیطان نے اس کے ساتھ کھایا (اس لیے برکت اٹھ گئی) ۔‘‘ اسنادہ ضعیف ، رواہ فی شرح السنہ ۔
Abu Ayyub bayan karte hain, hum Nabi ke pass thay keh khana pesh kiya gaya, main ne koi khana nahin aisa dekha keh hum ne khaya ho aur is ke shuru mein bohat zyada barkat ho aur is ke aakhir mein bohat kam barkat ho, hum ne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasool! yeh kaise hua? Aap ne farmaya: ‘Jab hum ne khana khaya to hum ne is par Allah ka naam liya, phir koi aisa shakhs baitha jis ne Allah ka naam nahin liya is wajah se shaitan ne is ke sath khaya (is liye barkat uth gayi).’ Isnaad zaeef, riwayat fi sharah al-sunnah.
عَن أبي أَيُّوب قَالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُرِّبَ طَعَامٌ فَلَمْ أَرَ طَعَامًا كَانَ أَعْظَمَ بَرَكَةً مِنْهُ أَوَّلَ مَا أَكَلْنَا وَلَا أَقَلَّ بَرَكَةً فِي آخِرِهِ قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: «إِنَّا ذَكَرْنَا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ حِينَ أَكَلْنَا ثُمَّ قَعَدَ مَنْ أَكَلَ وَلَمْ يُسَمِّ اللَّهَ فَأَكَلَ مَعَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ» . رَوَاهُ فِي شرح السّنة
