Ibn ‘Abbas reported the Prophet as saying:“The evil eye is genuine If anything could get ahead of the decree the evil eye would do so. And when you are asked to bathe do so.”* Muslim transmitted it. * An indication of the practice here intended will be found in the tradition of Abu Umama near the end of Section II of this chapter.

ابن عباس ؓ ، نبی ﷺ سے روایت کرتے ہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ نظر (کی تاثیر) ثابت ہے ، اگر کوئی چیز تقدیر پر سبقت لے جانے والی ہوتی تو نظر اس پر سبقت لے جاتی اور جب تم سے غسل کا مطالبہ کیا جائے تو غسل کرو ۔‘‘ رواہ مسلم ۔
Ibn Abbas RA, Nabi SAW se riwayat karte hain, Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Nazar (ki taaseer) sabit hai, agar koi cheez taqdeer par subqat le jane wali hoti to nazar us par subqat le jati aur jab tum se ghusl ka mutalba kiya jaye to ghusl karo.'' Riwayat Muslim.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ فَلَوْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ سَابَقَ الْقَدَرِ سَبَقَتْهُ الْعَيْنُ وَإِذَا اسْتُغْسِلْتُمْ فاغسِلوا» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
