‘Abd ar-Rahman b. ‘Uthman told that when a physician consulted the Prophet about putting frogs in medicine he forbade him to kill them.* Abu Dawud transmitted it. * The flesh of frogs mixed with olive oil was used as an antidote for snake bite, and the fat was considered helpful for extracting teeth. The prohibition of killing frogs most probably applies only to killing them for medicinal purposes.

عبد الرحمن بن عثمان ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک طبیب نے نبی ﷺ سے مینڈک کو دوائی میں ڈالنے کے متعلق دریافت کیا تو نبی ﷺ نے اسے اس کے قتل کرنے سے منع فرما دیا ۔ اسنادہ صحیح ، رواہ ابوداؤد ۔
Abd ur Rahman bin Usman RA se riwayat hai ki aik tabib ne Nabi SAW se mendak ko dawai mein dalne ke mutalliq daryaft kiya to Nabi SAW ne use is ke qatl karne se mana farma diya. Isnaadahu Sahih, Riwayat Abu Dawood.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ: إِنَّ طَبِيبًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ضِفْدَعٍ يَجْعَلُهَا فِي دَوَاءٍ فَنَهَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَتْلِهَا. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
