Ibn ‘Abbas told that God’s messenger took good omens but not evil ones, and that he liked a pleasing name. It is transmitted inSharh as-sunna.

ابن عباس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ فال لیتے تھے اور آپ بدشگونی نہیں لیتے تھے اور آپ اچھے نام پسند کرتے تھے ۔ حسن ، رواہ فی شرح السنہ ۔
Ibn Abbas bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah fal lete thay aur aap badshaguni nahi lete thay aur aap achhe naam pasand karte thay. Hasan, riwayat fi sharah al-sunnah.
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَفَاءَلُ وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُ وَكَانَ يُحِبُّ الِاسْمَ الْحَسَنَ. رَوَاهُ فِي شَرْحِ السّنة
