Description of the virtues of Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA)
بيان مناقب علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه

It is narrated on the authority of Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Khaybar, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Tomorrow I will grant the flag to a man at whose hands Allah will grant victory. He loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him." So when morning came, all the people presented themselves to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and they all hoped that it (the flag) would be given to them. You (peace be upon him) said, "Where is Ali ibn Abi Talib?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah! His eyes are ailing." You (peace be upon him) said, "Call him to me." So they brought him to you, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) applied his saliva to his eyes, and he was healed as if he had never had any ailment. He (peace be upon him) gave him the flag, and Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall I fight them until they become like us (i.e., Muslims)?" You (peace be upon him) said, "Go on until you reach their camp, then invite them to Islam and inform them of the rights of Allah that are binding upon them. By Allah! If your offspring were to guide a single person to Allah, it would be better for you than red camels." Agreed upon. And in the hadith narrated by Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him), you (peace be upon him) said to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), "You are from me and I am from you." It was mentioned in the chapter of "The Attainment of Puberty."

سہل بن سعد ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے غزوۂ خیبر کے موقع پر فرمایا :’’ میں کل ایک ایسے شخص کو پرچم عطا کروں گا جس کے ہاتھوں اللہ فتح عطا فرمائے گا ، وہ شخص اللہ اور رسول سے محبت کرتا ہے ، اور اللہ اور اس کا رسول اسے محبوب رکھتے ہیں ۔‘‘ چنانچہ جب صبح ہوئی تو تمام لوگ رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے ، اور وہ سب پرامید تھے کہ وہ (پرچم) اسے عطا کیا جائے گا ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ علی بن ابی طالب کہاں ہیں ؟‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : اللہ کے رسول ! ان کی آنکھوں میں تکلیف ہے ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ انہیں بلاؤ ۔‘‘ وہ آپ کے پاس لائے گئے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان کی آنکھوں میں اپنا لعاب لگایا تو وہ ایسے شفایاب ہوئے کہ گویا انہیں کوئی تکلیف تھی ہی نہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے پرچم انہیں عطا فرمایا تو علی ؓ نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! کیا میں ان سے لڑتا رہوں حتیٰ کہ وہ ہمارے جیسے (یعنی مسلمان) ہو جائیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ یونہی چلتے رہو حتیٰ کہ تم ان کے میدان میں اترو ، پھر انہیں اسلام کی دعوت پیش کرو اور انہیں بتاؤ کہ اللہ کے کیا حقوق ان پر واجب ہیں ، اللہ کی قسم ! اگر تمہارے ذریعے اللہ کسی ایک آدمی کو ہدایت عطا فرما دے تو وہ تمہارے لیے سرخ اونٹوں سے بہتر ہے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔\n اور براء ؓ سے مروی حدیث آپ ﷺ نے علی ؓ سے فرمایا :’’ تو مجھ سے اور میں تم سے ہوں ‘‘ باب بلوغ الصغیر میں ذکر کی گئی ہے ۔\n
Sahl bin Saad RA se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah SAW ne Ghazwah e Khyber ke mauqe per farmaya: "Main kal aik aise shakhs ko parcham ata karon ga jiske hathon Allah fatah ata farmaye ga, woh shakhs Allah aur Rasool se mohabbat karta hai, aur Allah aur uska Rasool usey mahboob rakhte hain." Chunancha jab subah hui to tamam log Rasool Allah SAW ki khidmat mein hazir hue, aur woh sab par-umeed thay keh woh (parcham) usey ata kiya jaye ga. Aap SAW ne farmaya: "Ali bin Abi Talib kahan hain?" Unhon ne arz kiya: "Allah ke Rasool! Unki aankhon mein takleef hai." Aap SAW ne farmaya: "Unhein bulao." Woh aapke pass laye gaye to Rasool Allah SAW ne unki aankhon mein apna la'ab lagaya to woh aise shifa-yaab hue keh goya unhein koi takleef thi hi nahin. Aap SAW ne parcham unhein ata farmaya to Ali RA ne arz kiya, "Allah ke Rasool! Kya main unse ladta rahun hatta keh woh humare jaise (yani Musalman) ho jayen?" Aap SAW ne farmaya: "Yunhi chalte raho hatta keh tum unke maidan mein utro, phir unhein Islam ki dawat pesh karo aur unhein batao keh Allah ke kya huqooq un per wajib hain. Allah ki qasam! Agar tumhare zareye Allah kisi aik aadmi ko hidayat ata farma de to woh tumhare liye surkh oonton se behtar hai." Muttafiq Alaih. Aur Bara RA se marvi hadees Aap SAW ne Ali RA se farmaya: "To mujh se aur main tum se hun." Bab Bulugh-us-Sagheer mein zikar ki gayi hai.
وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ: «لَأُعْطِيَنَّ هَذِهِ الرَّايَةَ غَدًا رَجُلًا يَفْتَحُ اللَّهُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهَ وَيُحِبُّهُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» . فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ النَّاسُ غَدَوْا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كلهم يَرْجُو أَنْ يُعْطَاهَا فَقَالَ: «أَيْنَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ؟» فَقَالُوا: هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَشْتَكِي عَيْنَيْهِ. قَالَ: «فَأَرْسِلُوا إِلَيْهِ» . فَأُتِيَ بِهِ فَبَصَقَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عَيْنَيْهِ فَبَرَأَ حَتَّى كَأَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِهِ وَجَعٌ فَأَعْطَاهُ الرَّايَةَ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ: يَا رَسُولَ الله أقاتلهم حَتَّى يَكُونُوا مثلنَا؟ فَقَالَ: «انْفُذْ عَلَى رِسْلِكَ حَتَّى تَنْزِلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ ثُمَّ ادْعُهُمْ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَأَخْبِرْهُمْ بِمَا يَجِبُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ حَقِّ اللَّهِ فِيهِ فَوَاللَّهِ لَأَنْ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ بِكَ رَجُلًا وَاحِدًا خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَكَ حُمْرُ النَّعَمِ» . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ\وَذكر حَدِيث الْبَراء قَالَ لعَلي: «أَنْت مني وَأَنا مِنْك» فِي بَاب «بُلُوغ الصَّغِير»\
