Ibrahim at-Taimi narrated from his father, who said, ‘we were sitting in the company of Hudhaifa (رضي الله تعالى عنه). A man said, if I were in the time of the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), I would have fought by his side and would have striven hard for his causes. Hudhaifa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘you might have done that. I was with the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) on the night of the Battle of Ahzab and we were gripped by a violent wind and severe cold. The Apostle of Allah (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) said: Hark, the man who (goes reconnoitering and) brings me the news of the enemy shall be with me on the Day of Judgment by Allah (the Glorious and Exalted). We all kept quiet and none of us responded. (Again) he said, Hark, a man who (goes reconnoitering and) brings me the news of the enemy shall be with me on the Day of Judgment by Allah (the Glorious and Exalted). He again said, Hark, a man who (goes reconnoitering and) brings me the news of the enemy shall be with me on the Day of Judgment by Allah (the Glorious and Exalted). Then he said, get up Hudhaifa (رضي الله تعالى عنه), bring me the news of the enemy. When he called me by name, I had no alternative but to get up. He said, go and bring me information about the enemy, and do nothing that may provoke them against me. When I left him, I felt warm as if I were walking in a heated bath until I reached them. I saw Abu Sufyan warming his back against fire I put an arrow in the middle of the bow. intending to shoot at him, when I recalled the words of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), ‘do not provoke them against me’, I realized that if I shot at him, I would hit him. But I returned and (felt warm as if) I were walking in a heated bath (hammam). Presenting myself before him, I gave him information about the enemy. When I had done so, I began to feel cold, so the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) wrapped me in a blanket that he had in excess to his own requirement and with which he used to cover himself while praying. So, I continued to sleep until it was morning. When it was morning he said, ‘get up, O heavy sleeper.
ابراہیم تیمی اپنے باپ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ہم حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کے پاس تھے تو ایک آدمی نے کہا، اگر میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پا لیتا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی معیت میں جنگ میں شریک ہوتا اور خوب جوہر دکھاتا تو حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ نے کہا تو یہ کام کرتا؟ واقعہ یہ ہے، ہم نے اپنے آپ کو احزاب کی رات رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ اس حال میں دیکھا کہ سخت ہوا اور سردی سے ہم دوچار تھے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا کوئی آدمی ہے جو مجھے دشمن کے حالات معلوم کر کے بتائے، اللہ قیامت کے دن اسے میری رفاقت نصیب کرے گا؟“ تو ہم سب خاموش ہو گئے، ہم میں سے کسی نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو جواب نہ دیا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پھر فرمایا: ”کیا کوئی آدمی ہے، جو ہمیں دشمن کے بارے میں معلومات فراہم کرے، اللہ اسے قیامت کے دن میرا ساتھ عنایت فرمائے گا؟“ تو ہم خاموش ہو گئے اور ہم میں سے کسی نے آپ کو جواب نہ دیا، پھر آپ نے تیسری بات فرمایا، ”کیا کوئی مرد ہے، جو ہمارے پاس ان لوگوں کے حالات معلوم کر کے لائے، اللہ اسے قیامت کے دن میری معیت نصیب کرے گا؟“ تو ہم خاموش ہو گئے اور ہم میں سے کسی نے آپ کو جواب نہ دیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اے حذیفہ، ہمیں ان لوگوں کے بارے میں معلومات پہنچاؤ۔“ تو میرے لیے جانے کے سوا کوئی چارہ نہ رہا کیونکہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے میرا نام لے کر کہا کہ میں اٹھوں، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جاؤ، میرے پاس ان کے بارے میں معلومات حاصل کر کے آؤ اور انہیں میرے خلاف نہ بھڑکانا۔“ تو جب میں آپ کے پاس سے چل پڑا تو مجھے یوں محسوس ہوا کہ میں حمام میں چل رہا ہوں حتی کہ میں ان کے پاس پہنچ گیا تو میں نے ابو سفیان کو دیکھا کہ وہ آگ سے اپنی پشت تاپ رہا ہے تو میں نے کمان کے درمیان تیر رکھ لیا اور اس کو نشانہ بنانا چاہا کہ مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ فرمان یاد آگیا، ”انہیں میرے خلاف نہ بھڑکانا۔“ اگر میں اس پر تیر پھینکتا تو وہ نشانہ پر لگتا تو میں واپس لوٹا اور مجھے یوں لگ رہا تھا، جیسے میں حمام میں چل رہا ہوں تو جب میں آپ کے پاس پہنچا اور آپ کو ان لوگوں کے حالات سے آگاہ کر کے فارغ ہوا تو مجھے سردی لگنے لگی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے اس چادر (کمبلی) کا زائد حصہ پہنایا، (مجھ پر ڈال دیا) جس میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نماز پڑھی تو میں صبح تک سویا رہا تو جب صبح ہو گئی تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”اٹھ، اے سوتڑ۔“

Waqia yeh hai, humne apne aap ko Ahzab ki raat Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke saath is haal mein dekha ke sakht hawa aur sardi se hum dochar the to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Kya koi aadmi hai jo mujhe dushman ke halaat maloom kar ke bataye, Allah Qayamat ke din use meri rafaqat naseeb karega?" To hum sab khamosh ho gaye, hum mein se kisi ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko jawab na diya, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne phir farmaya: "Kya koi aadmi hai, jo hamein dushman ke bare mein maloomat faraham kare, Allah use Qayamat ke din mera saath inayat farmayega?" To hum khamosh ho gaye aur hum mein se kisi ne Aap ko jawab na diya, phir Aap ne teesri baat farmaya, "Kya koi mard hai, jo hamare paas un logon ke halaat maloom kar ke laaye, Allah use Qayamat ke din meri maiyat naseeb karega?" To hum khamosh ho gaye aur hum mein se kisi ne Aap ko jawab na diya to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Aye Huzaifa, hamein un logon ke bare mein maloomat pahunchao." To mere liye jaane ke siwa koi chara na raha kyunki Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne mera naam le kar kaha ke main uthoon, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Jao, mere paas unke bare mein maloomat hasil kar ke aao aur unhein mere khilaf na bhadkana." To jab main Aap ke paas se chal pada to mujhe yun mehsoos hua ke main Hamaam mein chal raha hoon hatta ke main unke paas pahunch gaya to maine Abu Sufyan ko dekha ke woh aag se apni pusht taap raha hai to maine kamaan ke darmiyan teer rakh liya aur usko nishana banana chaha ke mujhe Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ka yeh farmaan yaad aa gaya, "Unhein mere khilaf na bhadkana." Agar main us par teer phenkta to woh nishana par lagta to main wapas lauta aur mujhe yun lag raha tha, jaise main Hamaam mein chal raha hoon to jab main Aap ke paas pahuncha aur Aap ko un logon ke halaat se aagah kar ke farigh hua to mujhe sardi lagne lagi to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne mujhe us chadar (kambli) ka zaaid hissa pehnaya, (mujh par dal diya) jis mein Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne namaz padhi to main subah tak soya raha to jab subah ho gayi to Aap ne farmaya: "Uth, Aye sootad."
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ حُذَيْفَةَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لَوْ أَدْرَكْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَاتَلْتُ مَعَهُ وَأَبْلَيْتُ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ أَنْتَ كُنْتَ تَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَيْلَةَ الأَحْزَابِ وَأَخَذَتْنَا رِيحٌ شَدِيدَةٌ وَقُرٌّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَلاَ رَجُلٌ يَأْتِينِي بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ مَعِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " . فَسَكَتْنَا فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ " أَلاَ رَجُلٌ يَأْتِينَا بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ مَعِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " . فَسَكَتْنَا فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ " أَلاَ رَجُلٌ يَأْتِينَا بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ مَعِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " . فَسَكَتْنَا فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ فَقَالَ " قُمْ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ فَأْتِنَا بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ " . فَلَمْ أَجِدْ بُدًّا إِذْ دَعَانِي بِاسْمِي أَنْ أَقُومَ قَالَ " اذْهَبْ فَأْتِنِي بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ وَلاَ تَذْعَرْهُمْ عَلَىَّ " . فَلَمَّا وَلَّيْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ جَعَلْتُ كَأَنَّمَا أَمْشِي فِي حَمَّامٍ حَتَّى أَتَيْتُهُمْ فَرَأَيْتُ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ يَصْلِي ظَهْرَهُ بِالنَّارِ فَوَضَعْتُ سَهْمًا فِي كَبِدِ الْقَوْسِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَرْمِيَهُ فَذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " وَلاَ تَذْعَرْهُمْ عَلَىَّ " . وَلَوْ رَمَيْتُهُ لأَصَبْتُهُ فَرَجَعْتُ وَأَنَا أَمْشِي فِي مِثْلِ الْحَمَّامِ فَلَمَّا أَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ وَفَرَغْتُ قُرِرْتُ فَأَلْبَسَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ فَضْلِ عَبَاءَةٍ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ يُصَلِّي فِيهَا فَلَمْ أَزَلْ نَائِمًا حَتَّى أَصْبَحْتُ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ قَالَ " قُمْ يَا نَوْمَانُ " .
