باب الْكَشْفِ عَنْ مَعَايِبِ، رُوَاةِ الْحَدِيثِ وَنَقَلَةِ الأَخْبَارِ وَقَوْلِ الأَئِمَّةِ فِي ذَلِكَ
Sahih Muslim Introduction 64
Hasan bin Alī al-Hulwānī narrated to me, he said Yazīd bin Hārūn narrated to us, Hammām informed us, he said ‘Abū Dāwud al-A’mā entered upon Qatādah and when he stood, they said:‘Indeed this one alleges he has met eighteen of the warriors of the battle of Badr’. Qatādah said: ‘This one was barely asking [about Ḥadīth] before the plague; he did not attend to anything from [seeking Ḥadīth] and he did not speak [to any scholars] regarding it. By Allah, al-Hasan did not narrate to us from a witness of the battle of Badr without an intermediary; and Sa’īd bin al-Musayyib did not narrate to us from a witness of the battle of Badr without an intermediary except from Sa’d bin Mālik’.
ہمامؒ کہتے ہیں: ابو داؤد اعمیٰ، قتادہؒ کے ہاں آیا، پھر جب وہ چلا گیا، تو حاضرین نے کہا: اس کا دعویٰ ہے کہ میں اٹھارہ بدری صحابیوں کو ملا ہوں، تو قتادہؒ نے کہا: ”یہ تو طاعون سے پہلے مانگتا تھا، ان احادیث سے اس کو کچھ دلچسپی یا واسطہ نہ تھا، اور نہ ان کے بارے میں گفتگو کرتا تھا۔ اللہ کی قسم! ہمیں حسن بصریؒ نے کسی بدری صحابی سے براہِ راست سن کر حدیث نہیں سنائی، اور نہ ہی سعید بن المسیبؒ نے ہمیں کسی بدری سے روبرو سن کر حدیث سنائی، سوائے حضرت سعد بن مالکؓ (ابی وقاص) کے۔“
Hammam (Rahmatullahi Alaih) kehte hain: Abu Dawood al-Ama, Qatada (Rahmatullahi Alaih) ke haan aaya, phir jab woh chala gaya, to hazireen ne kaha: Is ka dawa hai ke main atharah badri sahabiyon ko mila hoon, to Qatada (Rahmatullahi Alaih) ne kaha: "Yeh to taoon se pehle mangta tha, in ahadith se is ko kuch dilchaspi ya wasta na tha, aur na in ke baare mein guftagu karta tha. Allah ki qasam! Humein Hasan Basri (Rahmatullahi Alaih) ne kisi badri sahabi se barah-e-rast sun kar hadith nahi sunayi, aur na hi Saeed bin al-Musayyib (Rahmatullahi Alaih) ne humein kisi badri se ru-ba-ru sun kar hadith sunayi, siwaye Hazrat Sa'd bin Malik (Radhi Allahu Anhu) (Abi Waqas)."
وَحَدَّثَنِي حَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامٌ، قَالَ دَخَلَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ الأَعْمَى عَلَى قَتَادَةَ فَلَمَّا قَامَ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَذَا يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ بَدْرِيًّا . فَقَالَ قَتَادَةُ هَذَا كَانَ سَائِلاً قَبْلَ الْجَارِفِ لاَ يَعْرِضُ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنْ هَذَا وَلاَ يَتَكَلَّمُ فِيهِ . فَوَاللَّهِ مَا حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ عَنْ بَدْرِيٍّ مُشَافَهَةً . وَلاَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ بَدْرِيٍّ مُشَافَهَةً إِلاَّ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ .
