Chapter: One who frees his share in a slave

باب مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا لَهُ فِي عَبْدٍ
Sahih Muslim 1501e
Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, he who gives up his share in a slave, and he has money enough to meet the full price, a fair price for him should be fixed; otherwise, he has emancipated him to the extent that he has emancipated.
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "جس نے غلام میں سے اپنا حصہ آزاد کر دیا، اور اس کے پاس اس قدر مال ہے، جو غلام کی قیمت کو پہنچتا ہے، تو اس کے لیے عادلانہ قیمت لگائی جائے گی، وگرنہ اس نے جتنا آزاد کیا، اتنا اس میں سے آزاد ہو گیا۔"
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Razi Allahu Anhuma) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Jis ne ghulam mein se apna hissa azad kar diya, aur us ke paas is qadar mal hai, jo ghulam ki qeemat ko pahunchta hai, to us ke liye aadilana qeemat lagai jayegi, wagarnah us ne jitna azad kiya, utna us mein se azad ho gaya."
وَحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا لَهُ فِي عَبْدٍ فَكَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْمَالِ قَدْرُ مَا يَبْلُغُ قِيمَتَهُ قُوِّمَ عَلَيْهِ قِيمَةَ عَدْلٍ وَإِلاَّ فَقَدْ عَتَقَ مِنْهُ مَا عَتَقَ " .
