Sahih Muslim 2214b, 287e
Umm Qais, daughter of Mihsan, was one of the earlier female emigrants who had pledged allegiance to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). She was the sister of Ukasha b. Mihsan, one of the posterity of Asad b. Khuzaima. She reported that she came to Allah's messenger (ﷺ) along with her son who had not attained the age of weaning and she had compressed the swelling of his uvula. (Yunus said:She compressed the uvula because she was afraid that there might be swelling of uvula.) Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Why do you afflict your children by compressing in this way? You should use Indian aloeswood, for it has seven remedies in it, one of them being the remedy for pleurisy. Ubaidullah reported that she had told that that was the child who had urinated in the lap of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) called for water and sprinkled it on his urine, but he did not wash it well.
حضرت ام قیس بنت محصن جو پہلی مہاجرات میں سے ہیں، جنہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیعت کی تھی اور عکاشہ بن محصن رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کی ہمشیرہ ہیں، جو بنو اسد بن خزیمہ کے ایک فرد ہیں، وہ بیان کرتی ہیں، وہ اپنے بیٹے کو جو کھانا کھانے کی عمر کو نہیں پہنچا تھا، اور کوا گرنے کی بنا پر اس کے حلق کو دبا چکی تھی، لے کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئی، یونس کہتے ہیں، اس نے کوا گرنے کے اندیشہ کے پیش نظر، اس کا کوا اٹھایا تھا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم اس طرح گلا دبا کر اپنی اولاد کو کیوں تکلیف پہنچاتی ہو؟ تم اس عود ہندی یعنی کست (کوٹ) کو لازم پکڑو، کیونکہ اس میں سات بیماریوں سے شفا ہے، ان میں سے پسلیوں کے ورم کی بیماری بھی ہے۔ اور بقول بعض نمونیا بھی ہے“، ڈاکٹر خالد غزنوی نے ذات الجنب کا معنی پلورسی کیا ہے۔
Hazrat Umm Qais bint Muhsin jo pahli Muhajiraat mein se hain, jinhon ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki ba'it ki thi aur Ukasha bin Muhsin (Razi Allahu Anhu) ki hamshirah hain, jo Banu Asad bin Khuzaima ke ek fard hain, woh bayan karti hain, woh apne bete ko jo khana khane ki umar ko nahi pahuncha tha, aur kowwa girne ki bina par uske halaq ko daba chuki thi, lekar Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hui, Yunus kehte hain, usne kowwa girne ke andesha ke peshe nazar, uska kowwa uthaya tha to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tum is tarah gala daba kar apni aulaad ko kyun takleef pahunchati ho? Tum is Ood-e-Hindi yani Qist (Koot) ko lazim pakdo, kyunke is mein saat bimarion se shifa hai, in mein se pasliyon ke warm ki bimari bhi hai. Aur baqol ba'az numonia bhi hai", Doctor Khalid Ghaznavi ne Zaatul Janb ka ma'ani Pleurisy kiya hai.
وَحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ أُمَّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتَ مِحْصَنٍ، - وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ الأُوَلِ اللاَّتِي بَايَعْنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهِيَ أُخْتُ عُكَّاشَةَ بْنِ مِحْصَنٍ أَحَدِ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ - قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِابْنٍ لَهَا لَمْ يَبْلُغْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الطَّعَامَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ - قَالَ يُونُسُ أَعْلَقَتْ غَمَزَتْ فَهِيَ تَخَافُ أَنْ يَكُونَ بِهِ عُذْرَةٌ - قَالَتْ - فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " عَلاَمَهْ تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلاَدَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الإِعْلاَقِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ - يَعْنِي بِهِ الْكُسْتَ - فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ " . قَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ وَأَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّ ابْنَهَا ذَاكَ بَالَ فِي حَجْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَاءٍ فَنَضَحَهُ عَلَى بَوْلِهِ وَلَمْ يَغْسِلْهُ غَسْلاً .
