Sahih Muslim 2219d
'Amir b. Rabi'ah reported:'Umar went to Syria and as he came to Sargh, information was given to him that an epidemic had broken out in Syria. 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf narrated to him that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had said: When you hear of its presence in a land, don't move towards it, and when it breaks out in a land and you are therein, then don't run away from it. So 'Umar b. Khattab came back from Sargh. Salim b. 'Abdullah reported that 'Umar went back, along with people on hearing the hadith reported on the authority of 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf.
حضرت عبداللہ بن عامر ربیعہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ شام کی طرف روانہ ہوئے تو جب سرغ مقام پر پہنچے، انہیں اطلاع ملی کہ شام میں وبا پھیل چکی ہے تو انہیں حضرت عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ نے بتایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے ”جب تم کسی علاقہ میں اس کا ہونا سنو تو وہاں نہ جاؤ اور جب تمہارے علاقہ میں پڑ جائے تو اس سے بھاگتے ہوئے وہاں نہ نکلو۔“ اس وجہ سے حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سرغ مقام سے واپس لوٹ آئے۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Amir Rabia (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Hazrat Umar (Razi Allahu Anhu) Sham ki taraf rawana hue to jab Sargh maqam par pahunche, unhen ittila mili ke Sham mein waba phail chuki hai to unhen Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Auf (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne bataya ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya hai "Jab tum kisi ilaqah mein uska hona suno to wahan na jao aur jab tumhare ilaqah mein pad jaye to us se bhagte hue wahan na niklo." Is wajah se Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (Razi Allahu Anhu) Sargh maqam se wapas laut aaye.
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ، عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ، خَرَجَ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ سَرْغَ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ الْوَبَاءَ قَدْ وَقَعَ بِالشَّامِ . فَأَخْبَرَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِهِ بِأَرْضٍ فَلاَ تَقْدَمُوا عَلَيْهِ . وَإِذَا وَقَعَ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلاَ تَخْرُجُوا فِرَارًا مِنْهُ " . فَرَجَعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ مِنْ سَرْغَ . وَعَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ إِنَّمَا انْصَرَفَ بِالنَّاسِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ .
