Ummul Momineen Umm Salama (رضي الله تعالى عنها), the wife of Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), said I used to hear from people making a mention of the Cistern, but I did not hear about it from Allah's Apostle (ِصلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). One day while a girl was combing me, I heard Allah's Apostle (صلى ِهللا عليه و ِآله وسلم) say, ‘O people.’ I said to that girl, keep away from me. She said, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) has addressed the men only and he has not invited the attention of the women. I said, I am amongst the people also (and have thus every right to listen to the things pertaining to religion). Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, I shall be your harbinger on the Cistern; therefore, be cautious lest one of you should come (to me) and may be driven away like a stray camel. I would ask the reasons, and it would be said to me, you don't know what innovations they made after you. And I would then also say, be away.
نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیوی ام سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا بیان کرتی ہیں، میں لوگوں سے حوض کا تذکرہ سنتی تھی اور اس کا ذکر میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے نہیں سنا تھا، ایک دن ایک لڑکی مجھے کنگھی کر رہی تھی تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو فرماتے سنا: ”اے لوگو!“ میں لڑکی سے کہا، مجھ سے دور ہو جاؤ، اس نے کہا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مردوں کو بلایا ہے، عورتوں کونہیں بلایا تومیں نے کہا، میں بھی لوگوں میں داخل ہوں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، ”میں حوض پر تمہارا پیش رو ہوں گا، تم ہوشیار ہو جاؤ، تم میں سے کوئی اس حال میں نہ آئے کہ اسے مجھ سے دور ہٹایا جائے، جس بھٹکا ہوا اونٹ ہٹایا جاتا ہے، سو میں کہوں گا، یہ کس بنا پر ہوا؟ تو کہا جائے گا، تمہیں معلوم نہیں، انہوں نے تیرے بعد کیا کیا نئی باتیں نکالیں تومیں کہوں گا، دوری ہو، اس کو دور لے جاؤ۔“
Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki biwi Umm Salamah (Razi Allahu Anha) bayan karti hain, main logon se hauz ka tazkirah sunti thi aur uska zikr main ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se nahi suna tha, ek din ek ladki mujhe kanghi kar rahi thi to main ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko farmate suna: "Aye logo!" Main ladki se kaha, mujh se door ho jao, usne kaha, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne mardon ko bulaya hai, aurton ko nahi bulaya to main ne kaha, main bhi logon mein dakhil hoon, Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya, "Main hauz par tumhara pesh rau hoon ga, tum hoshiyar ho jao, tum mein se koi is hal mein na aaye ke use mujh se door hataya jaye, jis bhatka hua oont hataya jata hai, so main kahunga, yeh kis bina par hua? To kaha jaye ga, tumhen maloom nahi, unhon ne tere baad kya kya nai baaten nikaleen to main kahunga, doori ho, usko door le jao."
وَحَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّدَفِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ - أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا، حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ الْهَاشِمِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ، رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ النَّاسَ يَذْكُرُونَ الْحَوْضَ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَالْجَارِيَةُ تَمْشُطُنِي فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ " . فَقُلْتُ لِلْجَارِيَةِ اسْتَأْخِرِي عَنِّي . قَالَتْ إِنَّمَا دَعَا الرِّجَالَ وَلَمْ يَدْعُ النِّسَاءَ . فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي مِنَ النَّاسِ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنِّي لَكُمْ فَرَطٌ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ فَإِيَّاىَ لاَ يَأْتِيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُذَبُّ عَنِّي كَمَا يُذَبُّ الْبَعِيرُ الضَّالُّ فَأَقُولُ فِيمَ هَذَا فَيُقَالُ إِنَّكَ لاَ تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ . فَأَقُولُ سُحْقًا " .
