Sahih Muslim 2533d
Abdullah bin Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) as saying, the best among people is of my generation, then those next to them. (The narrator said), I do not know whether (he said) it three times or four times. Then there would follow after them such persons whose evidence would precede the oath, and in case of some others, the oath (would precede) the evidence.
حضرت عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں،آپ نے فرمایا:"بہترین لوگ میرے ساتھی ہیں،پھر جو ان سے ملے ہوں گے،پھر جو ان سے ملے ہوں گے،"مجھے معلوم نہیں ہے،آپ نے یہ تیسری دفعہ فرمایا،یاچوتھی دفعہ،"پھر ان کے بعد ناخلف لوگ نائب ہوں گے،ان کی شہادت قسم سے سبقت لے جائےگی اور ان کی قسم،شہادت سے پہلے ہوگی۔"
Hazrat Abdullah (Razi Allahu Anhu) Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se riwayat karte hain, Aap ne farmaya: "Behtareen log mere sathi hain, phir jo un se mile honge, phir jo un se mile honge," mujhe maloom nahin hai, Aap ne yeh teesri dafa farmaya, ya chauthi dafa, "phir un ke baad nakhlaf log nayab honge, un ki shahadat qasam se sabqat le jayegi aur un ki qasam, shahadat se pehle hogi."
وَحَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ السَّمَّانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ " . فَلاَ أَدْرِي فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوْ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ قَالَ " ثُمَّ يَتَخَلَّفُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَمِينَهُ وَيَمِينُهُ شَهَادَتَهُ " .
