Sahih Muslim 256
Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported that he spent a night at the house of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ), The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) got up for prayer in the latter part of the night. He went out and looked towards the sky and then recited these verses - َإِنَّ فِي خ ِْ َلْبَابِ ُولِي األَ يَاتٍ ألِ آلَ فِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَاخْتِالْ ضْ َرلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَاأل - ْٰ جُنُوبِهِمَّ َ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىالَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ َّللا ََ بَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَـٰذِ رْ ضْ َروَ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَاأل ًِ سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارا بَاطِال [ Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding. Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.] (Aal-e-Imran 190-91). He then returned to his house, used the tooth-stick, performed the ablution, and then got up and offered the prayer. He than lay down on the bed. and again got up and went out and looked towards the sky and recited the verses (mentioned above), then returned, used the tooth-stick, performed ablution and again offered the prayer.
حضرت ابنِ عباس ؓنے ایک رات نبی اکرمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ہاں گزاری، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات کے آخری حصہ میں اٹھے، باہر نکل کر آسمان پر نظر ڈالی، پھر سورۂ آلِ عمران کی یہ آیت پڑھی: ﴿إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ* الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّـهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَـٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ﴾ (آل عمران: 190-191) پھر لوٹ کر اندر آگئے اور مسواک کر کے وضو فرمایا، پھر کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھی، پھر لیٹ گئے، پھر کھڑے ہوئے، باہر نکل کر آسمان کی طرف دیکھا، پھر دوبارہ یہ آیت پڑھی، پھر واپس آ کر مسواک کر کے وضو فرمایا، پھر کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھی۔“
Hazrat Ibn-e-Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne ek raat Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke haan guzari, to Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) raat ke aakhri hisse mein uthe, bahar nikal kar aasman par nazar dali, phir Surah Aal-e-Imran ki yeh ayat parhi: 'Inna fi khalqis samawati wal ardi wakhtila fil laili wan nahari la'ayatil li'ulil albab. Alladhina yadhkurunallaha qiyamaw wa qu'udaw wa 'ala junubihim wa yatafakkaruna fi khalqis samawati wal ardi rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batila, subhanaka faqina 'adhaban nar.' (Aal-e-Imran: 190-191) Phir laut kar andar aa gaye aur miswak kar ke wuzu farmaya, phir khade ho kar namaz parhi, phir lait gaye, phir khade hue, bahar nikal kar aasman ki taraf dekha, phir dobara yeh ayat parhi, phir wapas aa kar miswak kar ke wuzu farmaya, phir khade ho kar namaz parhi.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُتَوَكِّلِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، بَاتَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَقَامَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ فَخَرَجَ فَنَظَرَ فِي السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ تَلاَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ فِي آلِ عِمْرَانَ { إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلاَفِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ} حَتَّى بَلَغَ { فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ} ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ فَتَسَوَّكَ وَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَخَرَجَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَتَلاَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَتَسَوَّكَ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى .
