The virtues of Hazrat Khabbab bin Arat (RA), also known as Abu Abdullah
فضائل حضرت خباب بن أرت رضي الله عنه، ان کی کنیت أبو عبد الله ہے، ان کے نسب کے بارے میں بہت اختلاف پایا جاتا ہے، کچھ لوگوں نے کہا ہے کہ خباب بنی زہرہ کے حلیف تھے

Abdullah bin Khabab bin Art (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: People used to bury their deceased in Kufa. When Khabab (may Allah be pleased with him) came there, when his last time came, he said to his son: “O my dear son, bury me in the graveyard outside Kufa (as the people of Kufa did not bury their dead there) because if you bury me there, people will say ‘A companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is buried there’ (and so people will start burying their dead there).” Then when Khabab bin Art (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, he was buried outside Kufa, and he was the first companion of the Messenger of Allah to be buried there, after which people started burying their dead there.
حضرت عبداللہ بن خباب بن ارت رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں : لوگ اپنے فوت شدگان کو کوفہ میں دفن کیا کرتے تھے ۔ جب حضرت خباب رضی اللہ عنہ وہاں آئے ، جب ان کا آخری وقت آیا تو انہوں نے اپنے بیٹے سے کہا : اے میرے پیارے بیٹے مجھے کوفہ سے باہر قبرستان میں دفن کرنا ( کوفے کے لوگ اپنے مردوں کو وہاں دفن نہیں کرتے تھے ) ، کیونکہ اگر تم مجھے وہاں دفن کرو گے تو لوگ یوں کہا کریں گے ’’ ایک صحابی رسول رضی اللہ عنہ کو وہاں پر دفن کیا گیا ہے ( اس طرح لوگ اپنے مردوں کو وہاں دفن کرنے لگ جائیں گے ) ۔ پھر جب حضرت خباب بن ارت رضی اللہ عنہ فوت ہو گئے تو ان کو کوفہ سے باہر دفن کیا گیا ، وہاں پر دفن ہونے والے یہ پہلے صحابی رسول ہیں ، اس کے بعد لوگ اپنے فوت شدگان کو وہاں دفن کرنا شروع ہو گئے ۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Khabbab bin Art RA farmate hain: Log apne foote shuda gan ko Kufa mein dafan kiya karte thay. Jab Hazrat Khabbab RA wahan aye, jab unka akhri waqt aya to unhon ne apne bete se kaha: Aye mere pyare bete mujhe Kufa se bahar qabristan mein dafan karna (Kufe ke log apne murdon ko wahan dafan nahin karte thay), kyunki agar tum mujhe wahan dafan karo ge to log yun kaha karenge '' Ek Sahabi Rasool RA ko wahan par dafan kiya gaya hai (is tarha log apne murdon ko wahan dafan karne lag jayenge). Phir jab Hazrat Khabbab bin Art RA foot ho gaye to unko Kufa se bahar dafan kiya gaya, wahan par dafan hone wale ye pehle Sahabi Rasool hain, iske baad log apne foote shuda gan ko wahan dafan karna shuru ho gaye.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَكِيمِيُّ، بِبَغْدَادَ، ثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، ثَنَا طَلْقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ النَّخَعِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ خَبَّابِ بْنِ الْأَرَتِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّاسُ يَدْفِنُونَ مَوْتَاهُمْ بِالْكُوفَةِ حَتَّى جَاءَ خَبَّابٌ لَهُمْ، فَلَمَّا ثَقُلَ قَالَ لِي: " يَا بُنَيَّ ادْفِنِّي بِالظُّهْرِ فَإِنَّكَ لَوْ دَفَنْتَنِي بِالظُّهْرِ قِيلَ: دُفِنَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمَّا مَاتَ خَبَّابٌ دُفِنَ بِالظُّهْرِ، فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَدْفُونٍ دُفِنَ بِالظُّهْرِ، فَدَفَنَ النَّاسُ مَوْتَاهُمْ بِالظُّهْرِ "
