Mention of Hazrat Amr bin Um Makhtum, the caller to prayer (RA)
ذكر حضرت عمرو بن أم مكتوم المؤذن رضي الله عنه، ويذكر بعض المؤرخين اسمه عبد الله بن أم مكتوم

Amr bin Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and submitted: “O Messenger of Allah, I am an old man, and blind, and my house is far from the mosque, and I do not have anyone to bring me along, and there are trees and canals on the way between my house and the mosque, so am I allowed to offer my prayers at home?” The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do you hear the call to prayer?” I said: “Yes.” You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Then you should come to the mosque for prayer.” Imam Hakim says: Apart from Ibrahim bin Tahman, I have not seen any narrator narrating it with its chain of narrators from Asim on the authority of Zarr, however, the same hadith has been narrated by Shaiban Nahvi, Hammad bin Salamah, Abu Awana, and other traditionists from Asim on the authority of Abu Razin, except Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him). The hadith narrated by Zaidah is as follows.
" حضرت عمرو بن ام مکتوم رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں : میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی بارگاہ میں حاضر ہوا اور عرض کی : یا رسول اللہ ﷺ میں بوڑھا آدمی ہوں ، اور نابینا ہوں ، میرا گھر مسجد سے بہت دور ہے ، مجھے ساتھ لانے والا کوئی آدمی بھی نہیں ہے ، میرے گھر اور مسجد کے راستے میں درخت اور نہریں بھی ہیں ، کیا مجھے اجازت ہے کہ میں نماز اپنے گھر ہی میں پڑھ لیا کروں ؟ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا : کیا تمہیں اذان کی آواز سنائی دیتی ہے ؟ میں نے کہا : جی ہاں ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا : تو تم نماز کے لئے مسجد میں آیا کرو ۔ ٭٭ امام حاکم کہتے ہیں : ابراہیم بن طہمان کے علاوہ میں نے کسی راوی کو اس کی اسناد میں عاصم کے واسطے سے زر سے روایت کرتے نہیں دیکھا ، تاہم اسی حدیث کو شیبان نحوی ، حماد بن سلمہ ، ابوعوانہ اور دیگر محدثین نے عاصم کے واسطے ابورزین سے روایت کیا ہے ، سوائے ابن ام مکتوم رضی اللہ عنہ کے ۔ حضرت زائدہ سے مروی حدیث درج ذیل ہے ۔"
Hazrat Amr bin Umm Maktum RA farmate hain : main Rasool Allah SAW ki bargah mein hazir hua aur arz ki : Ya Rasool Allah SAW main boorha aadmi hun, aur nabina hun, mera ghar masjid se bahut door hai, mujhe saath lane wala koi aadmi bhi nahin hai, mere ghar aur masjid ke raste mein darakht aur nehrain bhi hain, kya mujhe ijazat hai ki main namaz apne ghar hi mein parh liya karun? Nabi Akram SAW ne farmaya : kya tumhein azaan ki aawaz sunaai deti hai? Maine kaha : ji haan. Aap SAW ne farmaya : to tum namaz ke liye masjid mein aaya karo. ** Imam Hakim kahte hain : Ibrahim bin Tahman ke ilawa main ne kisi raavi ko is ki asnaad mein Asim ke waste se Zur se riwayat karte nahin dekha, taham isi hadees ko Shaiban Nahvi, Hammad bin Salmah, Abu Awanah aur digar muhaddiseen ne Asim ke waste Abu Razin se riwayat kiya hai, siwae Ibn Umm Maktum RA ke. Hazrat Zaida se marvi hadees darj zel hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الطَّيِّبِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشَّعِيرِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الْعَدْلُ، ثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ شَاسِعُ الدَّارِ، وَلَيْسَ لِي قَائِدٌ يُلَائِمُنِي وَبَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ الْمَسْجِدِ شَجَرٌ، وَأَنْهَارٌ فَهَلْ لِي مِنْ عُذْرٍ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فِي بَيْتِي، قَالَ: «هَلْ تَسْمَعُ النِّدَاءَ؟» قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَأْتِهَا» قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: لَا أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا، قَالَ: فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ غَيْرَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ طَهْمَانَ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ زَائِدَةُ وَشَيْبَانُ النَّحْوِيُّ وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَأَبُو عَوَانَةَ وَغَيْرُهُمْ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ غَيْرَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ أَمَّا حَدِيثُ زَائِدَةَ
