Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jurjani: There is no problem with his narrations from those I have narrated from, and I have not found any Munkar Hadith from him if a trustworthy narrator narrates from him, except if a weak narrator narrates from him.
Abu Bakr al-Bazzar: He was not a Hafiz, but the people of knowledge narrated from him and accepted his Hadith.
Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi: Not a Hafiz
Abu Ja'far al-'Uqayli: Abu Bakr narrates from the Basrans from Humayd and Hisham, not a Munkar Hadith, and he makes many mistakes about the Kufis.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: One of the precise Huffaz, and Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan and 'Ali ibn al-Madini used to have a bad opinion of him, because when he grew old his memory deteriorated, so he would make mistakes when he narrated. Error and forgetfulness are two things that humans cannot avoid, so even if his mistakes were many until they were mostly correct, he does not deserve to have his narrations avoided. As for when he forgets, he forgets, and when he makes a mistake, he makes a mistake.
Abu Na'im al-Asbahani: There was no one among our Sheikhs who made more mistakes than him
Ahmad ibn Hanbal: Thiqah and sometimes he made mistakes, and he once said: Saduq Salih
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jili: Thiqah he used to make some mistakes
Ayyub ibn al-Mutawakkil al-Ansari: The recitation of Abu 'Umar al-Bazzar is more accurate than the recitation of Abu Bakr ibn 'Ayash, and Abu Bakr is more truthful than him.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Thiqah, worshiper, and when he grew old his memory deteriorated, and his book is Sahih, once: His memory deteriorated when he grew old, and his book is reliable.
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: He narrates from him
Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Darimi: He is not like that in Hadith, and he is one of the people of truth.
Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari: He became confused at the end of his life
Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the scribe of al-Waqidi: Thiqah, Saduq, knowledgeable in Hadith, except that he made many mistakes
Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn Numayr: Da'if, and once: Da'if in al-A'mash
Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan: Whenever Abu Bakr ibn 'Ayash was mentioned in his presence, his face would turn pale and he would turn away, and once: If Abu Bakr ibn 'Ayash were in front of me, I would not ask about anything
Yahya ibn Ma'in: Thiqah, and once, he said: A truthful man, but he is not upright in Hadith
