Abu Ahmad al-'Askari: He mentioned him among those who narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in mursal reports, but he did not meet him.
Abu al-Qasim al-Baghawi: He was not a companion.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: I do not know of any sound narration from his companionship, so I rely on it, and therefore we have included him among the followers.
Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim al-Naysaburi: It is said: He had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but this is not proven.
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jili: A trustworthy follower.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: A young companion who had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
