Abu Ahmad al-Hakim: Not strong according to them
Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jarjani: When he narrates from al-Walid, he is like the weak narrators whom I have mentioned in the account of Zuhair ibn Muhammad, and he is one of them. He has strange and unique hadiths narrated from him by Ali ibn Abd al-Aziz, and he is, in my opinion, one of those who steal hadiths and get confused.
Abu al-Fath al-Azdi: Abandoned in Hadith
Abu Ja'far al-'Uqayli: He has a few hadiths that are not corroborated. He has no authentic hadith from al-Awza'i. He narrates from other than al-Awza'i with a sound chain.
Abu Hatim al-Razi: I wrote from him long ago and he was good. He changed later and became close to a judge who was in Wasit. When I was on my second journey, I arrived in Wasit and asked about him. I was told that he had taken to drinking, musical instruments, and entertainment, so I did not write from him.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He is strange
Ahmad ibn Hanbal: I asked about him in al-Sham and found him to be known and praised
Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb al-Nasa'i: Weak, narrates from al-Walid ibn Muslim
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Very weak
al-Khatib al-Baghdadi: He was of sound understanding
al-Dhahabi: A well-known narrator, but they weakened him and said: Lenient
Salih ibn Muhammad Juzra: He was accused of fabricating hadith, and once: A liar
Abd al-Hayy ibn al-'Imad al-Hanbali: Weakened
Abdan ibn Ahmad al-Ahwazi: He was considered trustworthy by them
Ali ibn al-Madini: He mentioned a fabricated and baseless hadith and said: Narrated by Sulaiman ibn Ahmad al-Wasiti and Amr ibn Malik
Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari: He is questionable
Yahya ibn Ma'in: He declared him a liar
