Ahmad ibn Hanbal: He is nothing
Al-Dhahabi: Allah has enriched Ali, so that his virtues are not established through lies and falsehoods
Salih bin Muhammad Juzra: A trustworthy sheikh
Yahya bin Ma'in: He is nothing, and no one writes about him, except that there is good in him
