Abu 'Amr al-Saffar: There is no disagreement about him, he is trustworthy in Hadith.
Ahmad ibn Hanbal: Hariz's Hadith is about three hundred and he is authentic in Hadith, except that he carries hatred towards Ali ibn Abi Talib. In the narration of Mu'awiyah ibn Salih: He is among those counted with Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid and his companions. And once: Trustworthy. Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jili: Trustworthy, and he used to harbor hatred towards Ali.

Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari: Abu al-Yaman said: Hariz used to criticize a man, then he stopped.
Muhammad ibn 'Umar al-Mawsili: They accuse him of disparaging Ali, and they narrate from him, and they use his Hadith as proof, but they do not abandon it.
Mu'adh ibn Mu'adh al-'Anbari: I don't know that I have seen anyone from the people of the Levant better than him.
Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan: He used to narrate from Thawr, from him.
