Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jurjani: He narrated many hadiths, especially from Ibrahim, and his hadiths contain some unusual things. He is coherent in hadith, he is fine.
Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi: One of the Imams of the Muslims, but when he grew old his memorization deteriorated.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He was one of the devout whose prayers were answered, and he was the nephew of Hamid al-Tawil. Hamid was his maternal uncle, and he did not do justice to his hadith. He cited Abu Bakr ibn 'Ayyash in his book, and the nephew of al-Zuhri, and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Dinar. If he abandoned him because he made mistakes, then others of his peers like al-Thawri and Shu'bah and those below them also made mistakes.
Abu Dawud al-Sijistani: No one narrated better than him in Basra.
Abu Zur'ah al-Razi: More memorizing and greater than Abaan.
Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim al-Naysaburi: Trustworthy.
Ahmad ibn Hanbal: Trustworthy. Once: Righteous. Once: People considered Hamid al-Tawil to be more reliable. Once: Trustworthy, reliable.
Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb al-Nasa'i: Trustworthy.
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jili: Trustworthy, righteous man, good in hadith.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Trustworthy, devout, most reliable in narrating from Thabit. His memorization changed at the end of his life.
al-Daraqutni: Most reliable in narrating from Thabit. He also said once: One of the trustworthy.
al-Dhahabi: The Imam, one of the prominent scholars. He is trustworthy, truthful, he makes mistakes. He was a sea of knowledge, and he had some errors in the vastness of what he narrated.
Hajjaj ibn al-Minhal al-Anmati: He was one of the Imams of the religion.
Hammad ibn Zayd al-Jahdami: We did not see any of us seeking knowledge with the intention of being like Hammad ibn Salamah, and we do not see anyone today with the intention of being like him.
Zakariya ibn Yahya al-Saji: Memorizing, trustworthy, reliable.
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: Hammad ibn Salamah, accurate hearing, good understanding, he met many people, no one accused him of any flaws, and he was not attributed with anything. He had the best character and speech. He also said: I have not seen anyone like Hammad ibn Salamah, and Malik ibn Anas, they were both concerned with hadith.
Uffan ibn Muslim al-Saffar: The Commander of the Faithful.
Ali ibn al-Madini: There was no one among the companions of Thabit more reliable than Hammad ibn Salamah.
Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the scribe of al-Waqidi: Trustworthy, narrated many hadiths, and sometimes narrated rejected hadiths.
Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan: Hammad, narrating from Ziyad al-'A'lam, and Qays ibn Sa'd are not like that.
Yahya ibn Ma'in: Trustworthy. He also said: The most reliable in narrating from Thabit al-Bunani is Hammad ibn Salamah. In a narration by Ibn Mahriz he said: Trustworthy, reliable, and his hadith from Abi Hamzah al-Kufi is not much.
Ya'qub ibn Sufyan al-Faswi: Trustworthy
Ya'qub ibn Shaybah al-Sidusi: Trustworthy, righteous man, extremely righteous, and there is some inconsistency in some of his narrations. He also said: Trustworthy, but there is severe inconsistency in his hadith, except from his sheikhs, for he narrated good hadith from them, he was precise in their hadith, preferred over others in narrating from them, among them Thabit al-Bunani and 'Ammar ibn Abi 'Ammar.
