Abū Aḥmad al-Ḥākim: Not strong.
Abū Aḥmad ibn ‘Adī al-Jarjāni: If a trustworthy person narrates from him, then there is nothing wrong with his narration.
Abū al-Fatḥ al-Azdī: Not that strong.
Abū Bakr al-Bayhaqī: Not reliable, and he once said: Not strong.
Abū Ḥātim al-Rāzī: Acceptable, he confuses narrations, and his poor memory has been criticized.
Abū Ḥātim ibn Ḥibbān al-Bustī: A righteous shaykh, a jurist, and a worshiper, except that he used to make many mistakes in what he narrated, and he narrates unique narrations from the famous narrators that are not supported by others. He is truthful in his narration, but fairness in his case requires accepting what agrees with the trustworthy narrations and leaving what is not supported, even though he has a way to the trustworthy narrators, and he is one of those in whom I trust Allah.
Abū Dawūd al-Sijistānī: Trustworthy.
Abū Zur‘ah al-Rāzī: Trustworthy.
Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal: He is not an authority nor strong in ḥadīth, and once: Weak in ḥadīth, and once: Not strong in ḥadīth, and once: Not that strong, and once: Very confused in the isnāds, and once: Confused in ḥadīth.
Aḥmad ibn Shu‘ayb al-Nasā’ī: Not strong, and once: Acceptable.
Aḥmad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Jīlī: Trustworthy.
Ibn Ḥajar al-‘Asqalānī: Truthful, poor memory, confused some narrations with others, and accused of adhering to the doctrine of irjā’.
al-Dāraquṭnī: He is considered reliable, he makes mistakes.
al-Dhahabī: Truthful, poor memory.
Jarīr ibn ‘Abd al-Ḥamīd al-Ḍabbī: He was knowledgeable in the doctrine of irjā’ and used to speak about it.
Zakarīyā ibn Yaḥyā al-Sājī: Truthful.
Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq ibn Khuzaymah: His ḥadīth is not used as evidence.
Muḥammad ibn Sa‘d Kātib al-Wāqidī: Trustworthy.
Yaḥyā ibn Sa‘īd al-Qaṭṭān: He used to consider him weak, and from the narration of ‘Alī ibn al-Madīnī, he said: We used to avoid his ḥadīth in those days.
Yaḥyā ibn Ma‘īn: Acceptable, and once: There is nothing wrong with him, and once: Trustworthy, and once: We used to avoid his ḥadīth.
Ya‘qūb ibn Sufyān al-Fasuwi: There is nothing wrong with him.
