Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi: Dawud's condition is clear in his being untrustworthy. Even if he had nothing but his fabrication of the entire Book of Reason, it would have been sufficient evidence for what I have mentioned.
Al-Daraqutni: Abandoned in Hadith, the Book of Reason was fabricated by Maysara ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, then he stole it from him and compiled it with chains of narration other than those of Maysara.
