Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jurjani: Salih al-Hadith (good in Hadith), if a trustworthy narrator narrates from him, then his narration is Salih (good).
Abu al-Faraj ibn al-Jawzi: He mentioned a Hadith from him in his topics and said: 'This Hadith is not Sahih (authentic)'.
Abu Hatim al-Razi: He is not strong (reliable), and had it not been for Malik narrating from him, I would have abandoned his Hadith.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: Those who abandoned his Hadith altogether are mistaken.
Abu Hafs Umar ibn Shahin: Thiqah (trustworthy)
Abu Dawud al-Sijistani: His Hadiths from Ikrimah are Munkar (rejected), and his Hadiths from his Shaykhs are Mustaqim (straightforward).
Abu Zur'ah al-Razi: Layyin (lenient)
Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb al-Nasa'i: There is no harm in him.
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jalili: Thiqah (trustworthy)
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Misri: Among the people of trustworthiness and truthfulness.
Ibrahim ibn Ya'qub al-Jawzajani: People do not praise his Hadith.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Thiqah (trustworthy) except in (his narrations from) Ikrimah and being accused of holding the Kharijite view. Once, al-Bukhari narrated one Hadith from him regarding uncovering oneself during prayer, and it has supporting chains.
Al-Dhahabi: Thiqah (trustworthy) and famous. He has some strange narrations that are rejected.
Zakariya ibn Yahya al-Saji: Munkar al-Hadith (rejected in Hadith), he is accused of holding the Kharijite view.
Sibṭ ibn al-'Ajami: The practice is to authenticate him, and how can he not be trustworthy when the six Imams narrated from him?
Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah: We used to avoid the Hadith of Dawud ibn al-Husayn.
Shu'ayb al-Arna'ut: Thiqah (trustworthy)
Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Hakam al-Zaghbi: They used to weaken him.
Ali ibn al-Madini: What he narrated from Ikrimah is Munkar al-Hadith (rejected), and Malik narrated from Dawud ibn Husayn through other than Ikrimah.
Malik ibn Anas: He used to narrate from him and consider him acceptable, and said about him: 'For him to come down from the sky to the earth is easier for him than to lie.'
Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Muttalibi: Thiqah (trustworthy)
Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the scribe of al-Waqidi: Thiqah (trustworthy)
Yahya ibn Ma'in: Thiqah (trustworthy), but Malik disliked him because he used to narrate from Ikrimah, and Malik disliked Ikrimah.
