Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jurjani: He narrated from al-Thawri and others with chains of narration and texts that are not known, and no one else narrates them. Amr ibn Abi Salamah al-Tunisi narrated from him on the authority of al-Thawri ahadith that are not preserved and are Munkar (rejected).
Abu Ja'far al-'Uqayli: He has from al-Thawri only one hadith that is not supported.
Abu Hatim al-Razi: Shaykh, and once: Thiqah 'Abid (trustworthy, worshiper).
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He mentioned him among the trustworthy.
Ahmad ibn Hanbal: He was a righteous man, and praised him, and said: His hadith was close, there was something wrong with it.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Saduq 'Abid Kathīr al-Khaṭā' (trustworthy, worshiper, prone to mistakes).
Muhammad ibn Widah al-Qurtubi: Thiqah (trustworthy).
Authors of Tahrir Taqrib al-Tahdhib: Saduq Hasan al-Hadith (trustworthy, good in hadith).
