Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jurjani: In some of what he narrates, he is not followed by the trustworthy narrators, and the Salaf criticized him. He is weaker than Abdur Rahman ibn Ishaq al-Madani, who is known as 'Abbad, and 'Abbad is considered more sound than him.
Abu al-Faraj ibn al-Jawzi: His hadith is not the hadith of a hafiz (scholar who has memorized a vast number of hadiths). He mentioned a hadith of his on a certain topic and said: 'This hadith is not sahih (authentic)'.
Abu Bakr al-Bazzar: His hadith is not the hadith of a hafiz.
Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi: Abandoned (as a narrator).
Abu Ja'far al-'Uqayli: Weak in hadith. And once, he mentioned a hadith of his and said: 'There is leniency in it, and he is not followed on it.'
Abu Hatim al-Razi: Weak in hadith, rejected in hadith. His hadith is written, but not used as evidence.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: Among those who twist reports and chains of narration, and narrates strange and unacceptable things from famous narrators. It is not permissible to use his narration as evidence.
Abu Dawud al-Sijistani: Weak
Abu Zur'ah al-Razi: Not strong.
Abu 'Isa al-Tirmidhi: Some hadith scholars criticized him because of his memorization.
Ahmad ibn Hanbal: He is not someone whose hadith is rejected. And once, he said, 'Ibn Idris, Abu Mu'awiyah, and Ibn Fadil narrate from him, and he is the one who narrates from Nu'man ibn Sa'd, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, strange hadiths. He is not that knowledgeable in hadith, and al-Madani is more impressive to me than him.' And once, he said: 'He is weak.'
Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb al-Nasai: Weak, not that (reliable).
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jili: Weak, his hadith is permissible to write.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Weak
al-Daraqutni: Weak
al-Dhahabi: They considered him weak
Zakariya ibn Yahya al-Saji: His hadiths are strange and unacceptable.
Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Khuzaymah: His hadith is not used as evidence.
Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari: He needs further examination. And once, he said: 'Weak in hadith.'
Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the scribe of al-Waqidi: Weak
Yahya ibn Ma'in: Weak, not reliable at all. And once, he said: 'He is not that strong.' And once, he said: 'Abandoned (as a narrator).'
Ya'qub ibn Sufyan al-Faswi: Weak
