Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Atiqi: A righteous sheikh whose prayers are answered
Ibn Dulawiya al-Istiwa'i: When he returned from his journey, he stayed in his house for forty years, so he was not seen outside in the market, and he was not seen going out except on the days of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. He was among those known for commanding good, and no news of disapproval reached him except for others
Al-Dhahabi: The exemplary Imam, the worshiper, the hadith scholar, the sheikh of Iraq, and once: He has delusions and mistakes with his virtue, and once: An Imam, but he is lenient, with delusions, and once: With the lack of Ibn Battah's proficiency in narration, he was an Imam in the Sunnah, an Imam in jurisprudence, a man of good character, and his prayers were answered, may God be pleased with him
Abd al-Wahid ibn Ali al-Akbari: I have not seen among the sheikhs of hadith, nor among others, a better character than Ibn Battah, may God have mercy on him
