Abu al-Hasan ibn al-Qattan al-Fasi: Confused, what afflicted him was so severe that he could not understand, so his hadith weakened, and most of what was narrated from him after his confusion was not distinguished from what was narrated from him when he was healthy

Muhammad ibn 'Ammar al-Mawsili: He was firm before he became confused
Mis'ar ibn Kidam al-Kufi: I do not know anyone more knowledgeable of the knowledge of Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, than al-Mas'udi
