Abu Hatim bin Hibban al-Busti: He was one of the best worshippers of Allah, pious, devout, and religious. He narrated from his father and 'Ukarama bin Khalid, and al-Thawri and Ibn 'Uyainah narrated from him. Some of the Shi'a criticized him.

Ma'mar bin Rashid: I have not seen the son of a scholar resembling Ibn Tawus. He was the most knowledgeable of people in Arabic and the best of them in character. Ayyub said to me: If you are going to anyone, then go to Ibn Tawus.
