Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani: A Sahabi who was born shortly after the Prophet's mission. He was young during the Battle of Uhud, at the age of fourteen. He was one of the prominent scholars and was among the most strict followers of the Prophet's traditions.
Al-Dhahabi: He participated in the battles of Al-Ahzab (the Confederates) and Hunayn. His sons, Banu, Nafi', and Zayd ibn Aslam narrated hadiths from him. Jabir ibn Abdullah said, 'There is no one among us except that the world attracted him, but not Ibn Umar.'
