Jalaluddin al-Suyuti: Imam of the Meccans in Quranic recitation, originally Persian, and was a resident of Mecca. He was eloquent, well-spoken, white-bearded, tall, stout, dark-complexioned, with light eyes, dyed his hair with henna. He had tranquility and dignity, and his narrations are included in the Six Books

Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the scribe of al-Waqidi: Thiqah (Trustworthy), and he has sound narrations
Authors of Tahrir Taqrib al-Tahdhib: Thiqah (Trustworthy), we do not know of any criticism against him, nor do we know of anyone who declared him merely Saduq (Truthful). We do not know why he was not considered absolutely trustworthy, although both al-Bukhari and Muslim included his narrations in their Sahihs
